Many years ago, I'd worked for a company that sold Artel pieces and always been fascinated by the quality and craftsmanship of the pieces. So, with this in mind, Artel was definitely on the list of places to visit in Prague.
There are two stores in Prague - a small, but perfectly formed store just to the right of Charles Bridge on the Castle side, and another, larger Concept Store on the opposite Bank. We visited both, but much preferred the layout of the larger store. Bright, beautifully etched Glass pieces wink from every corner of the boutique, and are arranged beautifully to highlight the delicate craftsmanship. They also stock a variety of other design items by other companies, but the glass is the star here. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly (a rarity in Prague we found) without being pushy.
We ended up buying many more pieces than originally intended, but are utterly happy to have done so, as our lasting memory of a wonderful trip to this beautiful city!
