We have made a reservation for 2 on a winter evening on the back of the many good reviews we've seen on tripadvisor. We were well aware of the heavy Asian influence, however was still looking forward to a creative menu with fresh ingredients. It turned out to be a huge disappointment, food was prepared to an ok standard however they are just ordinary food that you would find in a Chinese/pan Asian restaurant, no more and hugely over priced given what was on offer. It wasn't at all special, unique or creative. We decided to cut short our dinner after 5 starters as it was really disappointing and we didn't think it was worth the money or time to carry on

Upon arrival we've been explained that it would be a fixed price 6 course menu with no choices available for 900 czk. The first course was salmon sashimi soaked in sesame oil and sprinkled with pink peppercorn. It wasn't bad and the sesame oil gave it a nice kick, nevertheless it's salmon sashimi, probably the most simple dish you would find at a Japanese restaurant.

Second dish was the soft shell crab burger. It was deep fried soft shell crab with wasabi mayo wrapped in white bun that normally comes with Peking duck. Probably the most creative dish we've seen for the night. But again nothing you wouldn't have tasted before from a typical Japanese restaurant even across Europe.

The third dish was goza. Nothing different from what you would get from a dim sum restaurant. It was well made but probably something you can get for 3 Euro a dish at a typical Chinese place. Next up was fried clams in crispy garlic/onion with beef tendon. The clams weren't properly cleaned and portion was tiny. Probably the biggest letdown of the night. After 4 rather mediocre dishes we were contemplating leaving.

We had the fifth dish which was crispy pork belly and broccoli in a sweet sauce. The pork belly was quite well cooked and had a good texture, but the sauce was way too salty and strong.

All in I have to say these were slightly above medium Chinese dishes, and nothing wrong with it if you are an Asian food fan, however definitely not something you would expect from a 30 Eur plus degustation menu. I would say the food was overpriced even at half the price.

Have to say though the waiters were helpful and accommodating when we requested to cancel the order after the fifth course. We were charged about 500 Czk each for the five courses we've had.

We went to Budapest, Vienna and Prague on this trip. Best meal was at Sansho. Get a reservation. Small minimalist decor. Try to be seated upfront where it is a little more lively. But trust me that when you start eating you would be happy to stand if you had to! It is a prix fixe menu and was about 1, 000 crowns or about $50. We were "warned" about the menu and the price. Maybe locals or some tourists complain? Did not make us hesitate though. I declared each successive course my favorite. Amazing meal. They will try to accommodate dietary restrictions too. One friend does not eat red meat so they whipped up some fish based courses for her.

This is by far the best food in prague and possibly one of the greatest places to eat anywhere. Great food, great service and a great drinks menu! Don't look any further. This restaurant is a must! Thankyou sansho, we will be back.....

This was by far one of our best meals during out Prague stay and we ate well. The place is very casual and simple. Young staff, shared tables. This isn't where you take your stuffy boss. Food was just fantastic...softshell crab slider, succulent pork dish, beef dish, etc.
Everything was delicious. Nice wine list. My wife and I were having so much fun we didn't even mind when the brought us the same dish twice after a long period where we didn't see our waiter for 30 minutes! We just ordered a second bottle of wine which was also amazing. Desserts also fantastic. Met the owner who seemed like a cool bloke. Such a fun vibe, would be regulars if we lived in Praha!

Creative, well presented and really excellent food. Expensive for Prague but well worth it. Near the city centre but far enough to avoid usual tourist trade. You really have to look to find this one
