The location of this hotel could not be better in a quiet side street just minutes from the Old Town Square. Our rooms were all large and spotlessly clean and having a small kitchen area with a fridge was a bonus. The bed was comfortable and despite being in the very centre of the City the room was quiet at night. Breakfasts were good with enough choice for everyone. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly.
I would definitely choose to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting comfortable, though not luxury, accomodation in a perfect location.

Stayed on the 25/02/12 – 26/02/12, this was a quick stay for 4 people in the same room. The room was more than I could have expected. Two rooms, two bathrooms, large area to relax with a fridge and small kitchen. We were on the 5th floor which the view was great over some of the main bits close to the old square. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was good to start your day. I would recommend this hotel. One street behind old square.

Room Tip: 5th floor gives a good view and at night on the patio area the town can be seen in lights.

I’ve just come back from Czech Republic,
It might be interesting for the public.
I lived in a 3-star hotel
And want about it to tell.
It’s Residence Leon d’Oro called
And isn’t much famous in the world.
And there a great advantage is:
It’s in the centre, do come please.
The hotel is quite ok for a 3-star
I should you say.
One has a safe, a fridge and a TV
And breakfast was enough for me.
In the apartment there’s gas too,
Which is so suitable for you.
As for the city it’s superb
And full of the attractions:
The clock Orloj impresses much
And many other sections.
The main thing-they are close by to the hotel Leon:
Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge, the churches , so on.
Prague Castle is a special place
To see and walk about
I think the people living there
Are of the city proud.
There each building is unique,
The architecture is worth seeing!
You'll visit toy museum perhaps,
St Vitas will strike you,
You'll listen to the organ,
Enjoy the city view

This hotel is very well positioned and perfect for a short break for a family. The staff are efficient, but could smile a bit more. The receptionist was very helpful with arranging tours, giving directions and ordering taxis to the airport. Breakfast is basic and doesn't change much but serves the purpose. The room was spacious but the furniture dated. The tap in the bathroom makes an awful noise and we could hear similar problems coming from other rooms. The lighting in the corridor outside our room didn't work and we had to use my son's torch to find the key hole to open our door. Noise from rowdy guests was not policed well and we were kept up one night. All in all though these are small problems which are counter-balanced by the positioning of the hotel, which is fantastic.

Room Tip: Take your own kettle for your room.

I stayed here for a week in late November 2011. Previous reviews mention renovation and certainly there is building work being undertaken, currently on the fourth floor. Noise therefore starts, sometimes at 07:30 and continues throughout the day. This work will however be complete fairly soon, and didnt affect my visit as i was already up and awake the couple of times they started early.

My room on the 5th floor had already been renovated and was extremely large, including a kitchenette, dining table and chairs and a full sized sofa as well as the two beds. The fittings and the entire bathroom were as new and all worked as they should do. The room overlooked the front which is a quiet passageway once the night time crowds have departed. No traffic.

Breakfast was high quality and quantity but not a huge selection, more a basic continental style.

Although i was a single traveller they only removed the second quilt from the twin beds, and in any event that was in the wardrobe had i needed it, i didnt as the room was nicely heated and ventilated. The room had a free to use safe deposit box.

The hotel is located 100 metres from the Old Town Square, and about 300 metres from Wenleslas square, in a pedestrian area, so enjoys a perfect location for exploration. The receptionist was also very helpful and gave me a local map upon which he marked the bus and tram stops and told me how best to get from A to B around town. All of the tourist spots are within walking distance, although the palace area on the hill on the other side of town is best reached by tram as its up a large hill! Walking back is less testing...

The hotel idoes not have a restaurent, but is surrounded by reasonably priced local restaurents and bars etc, providing as much choice as anyone could possibly wish for.

I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again when I return to Prague.

Room Tip: avoid ones near the lift to prevent disturbance late at night

The location was really very good. Just 2 minutes from the metro station and the old clock square. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the room we stayed in, didn’t satisfied us completely. The water in the shower couldn’t be absorbed by the hole in the floor, the tab when was open was making great noise and there was no carpet on the floor. And since it had outside 0 degrees and the floor wasn’t wooden, you could feel the cold in your feet. Moreover, the period we went there (November 2011), there were some repairs going on, the elevator didn’t work and generally speaking the inside appearance wasn’t as good it could probably be. Breakfast simply satisfying and the matresses on the beds need to be changed. However the price for the services and the things the hotel offered was very good!I
