Just returned from a 4 day trip to Prague with David Urquhart Sky Travel and stayed at this little gem, Hotel Clement which is situated a 5min walk to the Vitava River and about 10mins to the Old town square and the Astronomical Clock, this hotel is in a quite area with a couple of restaurants next door,we found this hotel to be very clean and you get an excellent breakfast, everything including bacon, eggs, toast, fruit juice, coffee, tea, cornflakes etc etc. We had a room on the 8th floor which is accessed by lifts which had a double bed, flat screen tv, and an up market en suite with towels etc.
The front desk staff, Veronika and others were very friendly and helpfull, they helped us so much in getting to know where to go, and how to get there, they even drew maps for us to follow, and they also found a Czech Folklore evening and a Medieval Banquet which we attended and both turned out to be very good evenings out, our many thanks to Veronika and the reception staff, once again, for helping us with these
We did a hop on hop off tour around the city in a Mini bus which runs every 15mins at stops around Prague and this also includes a trip on the river, we also did the Prague Tour All Inclusive which you are picked up in the morning from the hotel, and taken to Prague Castle and then it's walking all day for about 6 hours with an inclusive lunch break, a very good tour.and a great guide, very imformative
If you wish to change up some money, it is best to do this away from the Castle area, for the reason that they say No Commision but beware!! you will be ripped off, as they only give you around 22 or 23 Korun instead of 28 to 30 Korun to the english pound that you would get in town. another way to get around this city is by Tram they seem to go everywhere you have to get a ticket before boarding at a ticket stop shop
The Cathederal in the castle grounds is well worth a visit it took 500 years to complete quite an impressive building we also visited the National Memorial to the Heros of the Heydrich Terror 1942 which we found very interesting you can still see the bullet holes in the wall, and the story of what happened there is described in the crypt
