Planning to visit Prague for the second time, we tried to find a hotel with a convenient location, near Wenceslas Square, at a reasonable price, providing good breakfast. Well, Hotel 1. Republic was an excellent choice: very close to Wenceslas (less then 10 minutes walk to Muzeum metro station), 60 EUR/night/double room, tasty and diverse breakfast buffet, clean, cosy room, polite personnel. Two small supermarkets at the end of the street. To visit Wenceslas and Old Square there's no need to take the metro, you can reach them by foot. If you want to visit the Castle, take tram no.22 on Jecna street (5 min walk to the station). For trips outside Prague cross Wenceslas Square and in a few minutes you'll be at the Railway Station or Florenc Bus Station (departures to Karlovy Vary). To reach the hotel from the airport, my advice is to take Bus 119 from outside the Arrivals terminal to Dejvická metro station (metro line A). From there, you take the metro using the same ticket to continue to Muzeum metro station (5. stop). You can buy the ticket inside the Arrival Hall by credit card (32 CZK).
