“Pleasantly surprised with the hostel!”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

A friend and I booked this hostel for two nights at the very last minute, so the only avaliable room was a 26 bed female room. I was sceptical, but it turned out to be a great stay! Even though the room was big, it felt private and the newly renovated bathroom with four showers and four toilets made it feel fresh. Also, the mattress, pillow and duvet were very comfortable, since they are also new.

Had a good night sleep, but the night club in the buildning might disturd some people. Good location, close to old town. Didn't try the breakfast, but the staff was happy to recommend places to go to. Also, you got a bunch of discount vouchers, mostly on food, bar crawls and drinks.

I can definetely recommend this place! Just bring your own pad lock so you can lock your things in the locker....

Lovely clean facilities and comfortable bed. Excellend bar and restaurant services. Located centrally to most of the major sights but still removed enough to not be too noisy. Close walk to main train station and nearby bars and shops. Also trams run nearby too. Staff are very helpful and the place is nicely designed and fitted out

We stayed here in a group of 7 and found Mosaic to be a very good hostel. Positives:Comfortable beds, good range of facilities, price, great shower, location(two minute walk to underground and lots of trams nearby). Negatives: Slow food service, no extended check out option.

This hostel is located within walking distance of the major tourist attractions in Prague. Mosaic House is both a hotel and hostel. There is a restaurant/pub located at the ground level of the the hostel where a buffet breakfast is served every morning for an additional cost (150 CKR). The breakfast is actually pretty good, it offers a wide variety of foods both hot and cold continental foods. There are also coin operated storage lockers located around the hall from reception where you can store your luggage. You pay according to how long you intend to use the lockers. Be warned that you MUST BE ON TIME to retrieve your belongings because they will automatically charge you a hefty price if you are late. We paid to store our backpacks in the large lockers for 6 hours (80 CKR) as we arrive very early in the morning and were not able to check in. We were 3 minutes late to retrieve our bags and got charged 100 CKR!!! We booked a 4 person mixed room with a private washroom for our party of 3. We were lucky enough to have the entire room to ourselves during our entire stay! The room itself was clean and the bathroom was very nice and modern. My only issue was with the ladders on the bunk bends. There was only a handle on one side(weird) which made it a bit tricky to use. Also on most nights, there are parties going on in the pub/club at the ground floor of the hostel so noise could be an issue, so just bring ear plugs.

Mosaic House is a picture perfect design hostel/hotel. The place is modern, decorated in a trendy and playful, yet tasteful, way. The rooms are spacious, clean, fresh, and new. The staff could not be friendlier or more accommodating. The restaurant and onsite bar/concert venue -appropriately called La Loca- offer affordable eating and partying experiences that are worth a visit even if one is not staying in the rooms upstairs. And the best part of it all, apart from the low prices, is the atmosphere: one can see everybody there is having a good time and enjoying themselves, which in turns out to be the perfect invitation to do just that and join the young crowd for a drink or simply to listen to the bands who perform live at La Loca bar on an almost daily basis. Definitely going back.

Room Tip: All rooms are great. Higher rooms are quieter and a better fit for couples.

Awesome hostel, we stayed in a private double room and had the chance to be on the last floor (6th) and have a little terrace with the view on the city, which was really amazing. High quality and standards for a hostel, there are even bathrobes, toiletries, and slippers in the private rooms. Even if it is more of a young crowd hostel, the private rooms are totally suitable for anybody and quiet my parents who are in their 60s will stay there next May as well.

The hostel bar is also very cool and serves some foods and has a large cocktail/drinks menu! Prices are very affordable, cocktails are around 100 cz (like 3.5 euros) and the beer of course is very cheap in Prague AND very good. There were live concerts at the bar and it was really cool because it seems like a lot of czech people are coming there too.

Room Tip: The music can be pretty loud and the shared rooms on the 1st floor must hear it a bit, but for a tri...

This property has both private rooms (hotel) and shared rooms (hostel). We had a private room on the fifth floor. To our surprise, we had our own private balcony! The room was clean, comfortable and had a fantastic view. We can't say enough about the hotel. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the river, Old Town and the Charles Bridge. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and even a supermarket very close by as well as a metro/tram station. Breakfast was expanded European style with cereal, fruits, breads, cheeses and meats but also had hot entrees such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and potatoes. There is a restaurant and bar at the hotel but the noise was never a problem for us. Staff and fellow travelers were very friendly. Usually we try different hotels but on our next visit to Prague, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: A room with private balcony is worth every penny. Great views of the city and Prague castle
