I have just returned from a 7 day business trip in Prague, and this was my first time in the Red and Blue Design Hotel in Prague. The hotel was selected on the basis of proximity to the meetings I had to attend, in combination with good reviews on TripAdvisor.

I had a superior room which was fantastic. Large, spacious, tall ceilings overlooking the park opposite. Lovely large bed, great furnishings, big bathroom with both a bath and a shower. Multi-positional tv on the wall, sofa, chairs, minibar and safe. Perfect accommodation. The hotel staff were lovely - very helpful, friendly yet always professional.

So why only 4 stars? 2 reasons.
a) breakfast - is unfortunately totally inadequate for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast room is downstairs, with a normal room, conservatory area and outside area. But the range, scope and quality of what is offered befits only a middling 3 star hotel at best. This is a tremendous shame because it spoils what is otherwise an excellent experience.

b) whether it is because it was the weekend or something, but in my first 3 proper days there, the bed linen was changed and the bed made up just the once. For a four star hotel I would think it should be daily. After the weekend, this did happen, but it created a poor impression for the first time there.

Despite this, I had a good stay there, and I would certainly recommend it as a nice location with good people and wonderful rooms.

This was our first visit to Prague and we had a wonderful time. This hotel was one of the reasons we can't wait to return. Our room (a blue one) on the fifth floor faced the city, had a small sitting area, and was extremely comfortable and quiet. WiFi is free and a large flat screen TV had channels in several languages, including at least 5 in English. Our friends had a room (red) on the second that faced the front and was considerably smaller, so try to book carefully. What really made the stay so pleasant was the staff at the desk. Any request was "no problem".(Thanks Lucy) They made reservations for dinner for us, explained patiently how to use the trams and metro, and booked taxis for our return to the airport that were less expensive than the one's we took from the airport when we arrived. The location of the hotel, just outside the main tourist area, was perfect. It took us just a fifteen minute stroll along the river to get to the Charles Bridge, and just ten minutes to get to two really good places to have excellent Czech dinners. There is a very comfortable bar lounge on the main floor and a well stocked and serviced breakfast on the lower level. I would return to this hotel gladly, and look forward to doing so soon.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the city get the morning sun, those in front, face the park across the street.

Hotel is in a good location just away from the main town and only a 10min walk to all the good parts. Hotel its self was fine got a red room when we wanted a blue room but out flight got diverted on the way and arrived at midnight so we didnt moan as we were shattered. Slept well apart from at 6.30am every morning either guests or housekeeping had a shouting match on the corridor. Breakfast the first morning was ok very basic so we didnt bother the next two days and got food from Tesco express round the corner.
Went on the Jazz boat for dinner the first night and was great. Asked at reception on the second day about any ideas for dinner and the best he could recommend was some cafe round the corner .Very disappointed as if you work on reception you should know good places to eat for your guests.
Overall it was a good base for us to stay as we only needed a bed for the night.

We just returned from a three night stay at the Red and Blue Design Hotel. We arrived into the bus station at Na Knizeci, and took the #12 tram from the bus station to Svandovo Divadlo, then walked up the hill to the hotel. It was our last hotel on a 10 night tour of Europe and we were so pleased to find a good-sized, comfortable room. The front desk staff were extremely helpful, giving us great directions, calling restaurants, and printing ballet tickets. They were amazing! The breakfast room was lovely, and breakfast quite nice, but perhaps not the best European hotel breakfast I have experienced (still not a negative, just not amazing). The only reason this hotel receives 4* instead 5* was the 20 minute or so walk or tram ride to the Old Town center. But of course, this may be a positive for you as it's definitely out of the hustle and bustle.

We liked Red and Blue a lot. I think because we were staying 4 nights, they upgraded us to a large room on a corner with many windows. It was on the courtyard and so very quiet. Breakfast was pleasant in the garden room, with a good variety of food and different egg dishes each day. Too cold and wet to be on the terrace. The bar was nice and the staff very helpful. The location turned out to be fine. We walked to the castle and other sights. We got a 3-day transit pass and used the trams and metro extensively, but usually ate near the hotel. The staff had good restaurant suggestions, especially Carmelita, an Italian restaurant a short walk away.

This hotel was a little more expensive than we usually go for, but for our first stop after a long flight, it was just right.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back are quiet and have nice views of rooftops. The street on the front is fairly busy...

3 nights, two families, one with a 8 years old baby.
Everything has been ok, the rooms was clean, service was OK, free Wi-Fi and a free usable PC near the hall (with a free printer).
The Hotel is very near the Tram stop (for example, the tram number 9 is the one that goes to the center), and it is not so far from Carlo's Bridge.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and found it to be a great place to stay. The decor was very modern and all the staff were very friendly. As it was a birthday while we were staying there the staff made an effort by leaving a birthday greeting and chocolates in the room.
The room was spacious and modern with wifi available in each room at no extra charge.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to prague.
