“A good hotel when on a budget”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Located within 1 15 minute walk of the old town and having an excellent restaurant at either end of the street. The hotel is very clean and tidy. The rooms are spotless, fresh towels every day. The room size that we had was adequate for a couple but hanging space was at a premium. We had no tea and coffee in the room but the facilities were their if needed. Breakfast was excellent for a buffet and was often replenished. The reception staff were excellent and we would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is more likely an apartment. The rooms are very big, but you do not get a normal hotel room, rather at least 3 or 4 beds - both my husband and I and some friends booked a double room and received a random amount of beds :). The shower is interesting, as there is a curtain in the bedroom leading to the shower. There is a small kitchen, which I have considered as having everything that is required in a kitchen. However, in our room there was a strange smell, that did not go away even after leaving our windows open for a long time. Our friends, however, did not have the same problem. The breakfast area was quite small, so on one occasion we had to wait in order to find seats, and the foo was over very quickly. The location was really good - walking distance from the centre - about 20 minutes, but also right next to a subway station. On the downside, there was no parking available on the street, and we had to pay quite a large amount for a parking a block away.

The purpur hotel is located at a great location near the center. I like walking and i walked to the center in maximum 20 minutes and loved the surroundings. The hotel room was simple, the shower looked new. It is just a regular hotel, the cleaning lady comes everyday, you can make some coffee or tea, i had a small balcony. The internet is fine, what was very important for me. And average clean hotel, with a good price/quality. Just what i expected, or even a little bit better. At night it was a little bit cold, but i was alone and took two blankets.

The hotel is conveniently located close to a nodal tram stop, the main modern shopping street and a subway station.
The first impression I had, if I had to ve honest, was negative: as soon as I entered in, there was hip hop music playing in the background. Which is, in all honesty, unusual. I was given my keys, asked for a 500KR deposit by a relatively rude attendant - but, as I would have later discovered, the socially acceptable level of rudeness is much higher than the one I'm used to.
It all changed when I saw my room. Clean, warm and cozy, it had everything I could have asked for. The bathroom was very nice too, and the breakfast in the morning is excellent. The room could be more sound-proof.
