What an unexpected little gem on Wenceslas Square! My partner and I walked in off the street, no reservation. We were genuinely welcomed and shown to a table for two... great little spot away from the main crowd. The place had a quiet but vibrant buzz of happiness. I ordered a mixed sushi selection. It was fresh and very very tasty, the wasabi was really strong ... fabulous! Each piece of sushi was perfectly made and very tasty, possibly the best sushi I've had to date. The rice tea came in a beautiful little teapot accompanied by a glass serving jug and tea cup, very ceremonious and authentic. My partner (who is not a sushi lover) had the chefs choice cut of steak (which was a fillet but as it was the chefs choice it was cheaper than the fillet on the menu) with mash. He drooled over it .. perfectly cooked medium rare (he's still talking about it) and he insists it's the best steak he's ever had. Desserts were ordered, they were both wonderful ... chocolate cake for me (can't remember the name) and a sorbet/ice cream selection for him. We were asked regularly, but not too often, if all was ok. All was very much better than ok. We entered the restaurant with caution as we'd not researched it first, but we left feeling full and very happy. Kobe is a must if you want great service, great food, great atmosphere .... great, great, great!
