We booked for a table of 13 and were given a separate room which was comfortable and stylish. The food was exquisite and the service delightful. They could not have been kinder or more accommodating. Every person, including the vegetarians, had a wonderful meal that was beautifully presented. A must if you visit Prague.

Seeing that this place is ranked top 10 for Prague we were REALLY keen to try it out. Unfortunately the first time we visited we were turned away - although we thought we'd made a booking it seemed to have been lost in the cracks somewhere. We tried again for a few days later and the second time it worked. We started with a couple of drinks and although the bar staff were friendly and enthusiastic, the cocktails we ordered didn't quite meet expectations - still, not a major problem.

I'll start with the only positive - the food was admittedly pretty good. The garlic soup was interesting in that you "build it yourself" and tasted surprisingly good, the pork tenderloin was VERY nice but the chicken with pasta was bizarre. Specifically, you get the chicken in a nice sauce in one bowl then "naked" pasta in another - the problem with it is that as pasta cools it tends to stick together in big clumps meaning after 5 mins it was a giant congealed mess. Style over substance, had it just been mixed together it'd have been fine.

The problem therefore wasn't really the food - although let's not forget you are paying an absolute premium for it, nearly three or four times the price of other restaurants - but was the general atmosphere and service. Although we strongly prefer not to be rushed in our dinner, the time from sitting down at our table to being asked if we wanted a drink was 20 mins and we were sat with empty glasses for the entire time. Even after taking the order it's like they'd grown, processed and bottled the wine themselves rather than getting one from the cellar! The gap between starter & main courses was FORTY FIVE minutes. If the place was packed you might be able to understand and empathise but it wasn't there were empty tables dotted around.

The worst part was when someone, we think it was either the owner or perhaps head chef, brought a pair of dogs into the restaurant and proceeded to walk around different tables with them chatting to his friends. Taking your dog into a pub for a drink is one thing, when you're paying upwards of 2000czk for a meal you do NOT expect to have animals mere feet away from your food, especially when they were jumping up at guests. The entire group then decamped to a corner and - in seeming ignorance of the stated restaurant policy - started lighting up cigarettes and shisha pipes. At this stage, despite having waited 30 mins for a dessert menu, we asked for the bill. THREE times, with three separate waiters, it still took 15 mins to arrive.

That's not a well paced meal, it's glacially slow and shocking service - we felt we were an afterthought, second class citizens because we'd dared go to the restaurant on the same night as the manager and his friends.

Maybe it was a one off but if you treat the front of house of the restaurant you own in this way, who knows what it's like out the back?

I can't honestly recommend it - the food is good but not so good you're made to feel cheap and irrelevant when you are spending this much money. Avoid.

My wife and I ate here earlier this month after a recommendation from our driver who met us at the airport. He worked there in his spare time. The night we wanted to go the restaurant was fully booked so we arranged the next night. The food was absolutely superb, beautifully presented and excellent value for money. If visiting Prague try and find the time to eat here - you will not be disappointed

Excellent meal. Friendly staff and good service. Good value for money. Camembert starter was small but main was huge so didn't mind too much. Lovely atmosphere and decor too!
