This was our second trip to Prague, as we love the city so much. We decided to book the Park Inn as it had so many good reviews and was excellent value. We stayed for 3nights. The location was fantastic. Prague is a faily compacted city anyway, but it helps if you are near transport links. You can catch the Tram which is a 3min walk from the hotel either to the nearest Metro startion (Karlovo Namesti) which takes 2 mins to get there by Tram, or you can stay on the Tram which takes you to the end of Charles Bridge in 4-5mins. We didn't bother to walk to the main attractions as the transport system in Prague is so brilliant (You buy a 24Hr day ticket for 100Kc, and this allows you to use as many times as you like on Trams and Metro's combined), and it happened to be raining pretty much the whole time we were there. Although, if you do decide to walk from the hotel to the nearest Metro it would take around 10mins.
The Hotel is in a faily quiet area, slightly away from the hustle of the main attractions. The room we got was faily small, with a bathroom and shower (the shower was excellent). It was adequat enough though and very clean. The only thing I found different from previous hotels is that Park Inn don't clean you bedding or towels during your stay unless you ask them to (this is to save water I think). The only small niggle to the room was the bed was slightly on the small side for two people, and it wasn't overly comfortable (the quilt didn't feel like it was big enough to cover the both of us, and the pillows were uneven, they had obviously been washed and the stuffing inside them had broken up and gone a bit lumpy), however we did get this room at an incredible £50 a night, so expect to not have the top suite.
Reception staff were very helpful, and the secure luggage area was very welcomed and reassuring as we didn't fly home until the evening, and so needed somewhere to store our luggage after checkout. The hotel has a Bar and Steak type restaurant, which looked lovely, but we didn't try it as we prefer to venture out into Prague city for our meals.
Overall, excellent modern budget hotel, with a fabulous location and transport links.
