We went to this restaurant after reading some reviews about it thru Trip Advisor. It is located near the Nový Smíchov Mall. We were tired of going to the same old restaurants that we normally frequent, when we are in Prague, so we tried this one. The restaurant front and interior design are well done, and attractive. Beware though if you have anyone in your party who is in a wheelchair or has a baby carriage. As you go through the front entrance there are already two sets of stairs leading down to the main floor, therefore anyone handicapped or having a baby might find it difficult if not impossible to get in. Also, the smoking and non-smoking areas are wide open to each other, so technically, there is no non-smoking area, even though they will tell you there is.
The food here is for the most part Czech with some variations. It isn't bad, but for the price that you pay here I expected a better tasting meal. Simply serving standard food and charging a high price is not acceptable, even if it is near a major shopping and tourist area. For me this restaurant lost points big time because of this one point. At least the beer was well poured.
The service at this restaurant was only a little better than the normal Czech standard. Should be better if you are charging a premium price. You can't expect people to pay a higher price and not cater to them respectfully and attentively. Don't get me wrong. They weren't rude, but they could certainly learn something from Zdeněk Pohlreich about how you should treat your customers and what you should serve.
All in all, this restaurant isn't a disaster, but I don't see myself coming back. There are other restaurants in the area that are cheaper than this one, with better food. Maybe if they would put a little more heart into their cooking then I could see myself returning to this restaurant, but I don't see that happening. Hopefully, I am wrong.
