Reviewed November 12, 2013

My girlfriend and I visited Prague at the end of October 2013. First of all, we had a wonderful trip, including the hotel- Prague is indeed as magical as everyone says and incredibly romantic.

We decided to book into the Lindner Hotel due to an excellent package offered by Expedia, and we can most certainly say it was excellent value for money. The hotel is very well presented, with a luxurious, comfortable lobby that you find in all excellent hotels- yet also manages to feel cozy and warm which I'm sure is down to the excellent staff..

The staff to a person are all warm, articulate and incredibly helpful, all hallmarks of an excellent place. We ate once during our 4 day stay and the food was, while not spectacular, very decent for a hotel restaurant. So for us, travelling without expectation or a huge amount of research, I can say that we very much enjoyed our stay and would think about staying again.

Caveat: Unless you have traveled to Prague before, it's important to be aware of the location of this hotel. It's at the top of the hill by Prague Castle, which leads to some fabulous views and also peaceful and quieter. Be warned though- it's a solid 30-40 minute walk past the Charles Bridge and into Old Town etc (essentially Prague City Centre ). There is a tram stop nearby although we treated the walking like a mini adventure with plenty of beer stops....

An example of when this might be a little bit of an inconvenience- we would leave after breakfast for sightseeing, yet come 5.30/6, we'd be relatively tired after walking all day. However the 1/1.5 hour round trip back to the hotel (factoring in getting freshened up etc) does seem quite an effort so we stayed in town on 3 of the nights. Ideally we could have popped back to the hotel for shower, quick feet up then headed back out for dinner/ drinks. This isn't leveled as a criticism more our own personal preferences.

I'd say this hotel would is perfect for business men, families and perhaps the slightly older couple- perhaps where it might not be is if you're a young couple with only couple of days, and you want to cram in both the sight seeing AND the nightlife- as we stayed longer (4 days) it was great for us (and as we mentioned the beer stops....). All in all, very positive experience.

This hotel is part of a monastery and near the castle. The area offers stunning architecture and views of the city, without the crowds of the old town. The walk to the city centre and old town is great if you are fit, but transport links are close if not and the hotel offers a fixed price limousine service to the centre. Hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful which along with the relaxing ambience helps to give the Lindner a very personal feel. Rooms are a good size and very well appointed. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of quality items. We will definitely be staying here again.

I stayed in this Hotel at the end of September 2013. A part from the high standard of the Hotel (quiet rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast...) and its scenic position, I would like to recommend this Hotel, in particular, for the caring staff. Having lost some documents, I experienced at first -hand the extreme kindness, for instance, of the Manager (Mr. Antonino Corona).

We got a deal (30% off) for some October sale and jumped on it. Very happy that we did as this was a clean, cozy, comfortable, friendly place.

For some people the location is a blessing and a curse. Its close to the Prague Castle but its a very steep hill to walk up and down every day. If you are staying in Prague for longer than 2-3 days, I would consider something lower on the hill. We were fit so it didn't bother us much at all, but I can see this being a real burden for some people.

There is an AMAZING restaurant close by called "Peklo" - DEFFINITELY CHECK IT OUT!!!!! Its steps outside of the hotel, set in a cave cellar underground.

Hotel is located next to a monastary on the hill top. Beautiful views over the town just around the corner from the hotel.
Rooms are quiet, big and clean, but some more light wouldn't hurt, specially in the bathroom. Lobby and outside of the hotel is beautiful.
Food is eatable but nothing special.
Wifi is avaliable on ground floor, but in rooms you need to use cable to use internt (cable provided by reception).
Hotel has spa, unfortunately had no time to visit.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are quiter.

My husband and I stayed here during a recent trip to Prague. It was a fabulous hotel - HUGE by European standards. The hotel was clean, the bed was massive, and the staff friendly.

Wi-fi is free in the lobby - but NOT in the rooms. However, there is wired hotel in the room which worked well.

The hotel is a bit away from town, which I really appreciate. The walk to the hotel is up a very big hill, but there is a tram that picks up just outside the hotel door.

I would definitely recommend this hotel without hesitation and I'll stay there again!

Stayed here for a few days on business. Lovely hotel - nice clean rooms and excellent beds. I slept like a log all three nights. Food was good too, plenty to choose from at breakfast and lunch. Free wifi. The hotel is at the top of a big, steep hill, I really enjoyed the walk but I guess some may not.
