“Inexpensive place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

My stay at Hostel One Prague was a good one. Free dinner three nights a week and lots of fun in the bar area downstairs is available every night.
The staff is great, too!
This hostel is actually not too far from the city center - only a 30 minute walk, which I think is actually pretty close. Transit is available if you prefer the tram, though.
Accomodations are very modest, but it's an inexpensive hostel!

We stayed in an 8bed dorm with a shared bathroom.
Getting there: Cost 24czk by tram (get off at the stop by a small football stadium) or about a 20min walk from the main train station.
300czk by taxi from a club on the river - 5stories
The room was very spacious with some lockers if you wanted to store away some small items.
There was supposed to be wifi available but all the people I spoke to had issues connecting, there were computers available if you wanted instead (quite a few cafes/restaurants had wifi so wasn't an issue)
It was a bit run down versus some other hostels I've stayed at and although the restaurants might have been a bit cheaper out this way the extra time spent getting in and out of town I would probably pay a bit more and stay right in the old town as you can find places to eat in the old town which are still very reasonable.

This hostel is not located right in the city (a couple tram stops to city center) but it was easy and not a problem at all. We ended up getting a 3-day transportation pass from the airport and it was well worth it since we used the bus/metro/tram. Staff was very friendly and helpful regarding local places to eat and how to get around Prague. Rooms were clean and I appreciated that the bathroom was in the room as well. Really cool atmosphere to chill, drink and meet new people...had a blast! The free wifi down in the lobby/check-in area was great too.

out of every hostel i stayed in on my 10 week trip around europe, i had the most fun at hostelone. Staff were great, very helpful. Awesome party hostel, every night Pepe or the Italian guy (cant remember his name) would cook dinner for the hostel, usually pasta - really good! then the bar would open and everyone would venture down there. Easy to meet people, Pepe was on the bar, serve us drinks then would find the best places to go on any night, call us cabs and come out with us, taking us to different places like a pub crawl, every place was going off. Rooms were sweet, bathroom in the rooms although some shower heads had broken and were hanging down so you had to shower with one hand, but still were ok, pressure and temp were sweet. Hostel had a good lounge area to where you could chill out on comfy couches and watch tv or a dvd. Free computers too. Had a cool outdoor area but to cold to use it in october when i was there. Would definitely recommend staying there such good times!! Location was OK, not in town but 10 min walk to train station, 15 to city center

The area of town this hostel is more of a local one. The moment I entered I was greeted by someone going out of there way to be nice and helpful. I communicated with four employees and they were all just the same. The hostel is in good condition but don't go expecting it to be a 4 star hotel. We stayed in a four person room and it had a lot to offer. The room had its own bathroom (sorta off to the side which was perfect). The room also had its own fridge and kitchen (there is a main kitchen downstairs as well). There is a cool backyard to hang out in as well as a nice bar in the basement.

Room Tip: If you can try to get a room that does not face the street. It wasn't super loud but the rooms...

Spent 6 nights at HostelOne and can not think of anything that needs to be improved.
Some say its too far from center, but that is no problem. Trams go almost to the doorstep, and you use them a lot anyway.
Also it is cleaned what seems like 8 hours a day! Everyday!
Go and see for yourself!

My wife and I stayed in one of the double rooms with ensuite at this great hostel. We were greeted by Gary at reception when we arrived who was extremely helpful and while checking us in even gave us a map which he scribbled tips on and pointed places out. Our room was more of a studio apartment than a double room, complete with small kitchenette. Everything nice and clean and functional. All this just a 10-15 min walk from the train station. Would easily return should I be back in Prague.
