My husband had the beef tongue over celery salad special to start off with. It was flavorful and tender. It had a nice contrast with the salad. For dinner, he had the rabbit with beer sauce. The rabbit fell off the bone. The beer sauce was a fabulous reduction that was sweet, rich and complex. I had the pumpkin gnocci in sage butter. Alone without seasoning, it would've been delicious. But the addition of the roasted pumpkin and the candied sunflower seeds made this dish soft and crunchy? For once, a meal that needs no salt!
This place is amazing. I don't think they could screw up a meal if they tried.

Great food and great service in a quiet, nice atmosphere. We were told you needed to book in advance but it is not really necessary to do it for lunch. We went there and repeated the day. It's also perfect for tea, coffe and a large selection of wonderful cakes.e

The Cafe Imperial is a beautiful art nouveau building close to the Municipal Hall. We stopped in after a tour just to see the building and get a quick bite. The waitstaff is formal and expect guests to have reservations. Since we did not, we were allowed to have a table, but informed that we would need to leave within 50 minutes. I had onion quiche with salad and hubby had veal schnitzle. Quiche excellent, but veal somewhat dry. Do get a reservation if you want to eat more leisurely and enjoy the beautiful environment! Food is pricey!

Great breakfast and service. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The building itself is amazing. Would visit again.
