“Open Wallet Surgery”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

This pub has a good atmosphere and is good for sport and an English breakfast. Be prepared to pay through the nose however. We hit most pubs around the square and further afield and found most of them very competitive (around 34CZ per pint - about £1). 4 of us had 2 & half rounds of drinks and rattled up a bill over 1900CZ (£65) in just over an hour. Never went back. Try The Dubliner round the corner - not the cheapest but a similar experience for half the cost.

“RIPP OFF PUB OF THE YEAR!!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

Avoid this pub/restaurant at all costs, since when has it been 55 Czech Krona (approx £2) for a splash of coke to go with a brandy, not once, but twice this was on our bill, we did have 2 brandy and cokes but I didn`t expect to pay over £4 for the 2 cokes. we found plenty of other pubs within and just off the old market square that were much cheaper and better atmospheres.
Beware, beware beware!!!!!

Dear Ronnie,

we really appreciate your visit at the George&Dragon restaurant. We feel very sorry for your negative experience. "A splash of coke" you mentioned above was a regular half of coke, that is normally sold for 55 Kč. Your drink cost 165 Kč (Hennessy VS 0,04l + Coke 0,2l). Please notify, that our restaurant is situated in the heart of the Prague, where the prices are equal to prices of the european cities. I have my own experience form London, where I pair for a glass of red wine and Gintonic £18 at the bar located in the Piccadilly Circus.
You have a right to express your opinion, but please realize, that kind of comment could jeopardies the reputation of the G&D restaurant. Our staff always try to do their best and possitive feedback proves it.
Unfortunately, I am sorry I can not make all our customers satisfied and happy, even though I would like so.

Wish you all the best
Martin

“Good English pub”

A real gem to get out of the hustle and bustle of the old town square. Good food and very good priced beer. Great atmosphere as well.

“Good pub for a nice drink”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2012

Popped in her after a wander around the city. Was very quiet (we were the only customers in) but nonetheless the staff took an interest and were friendly and attentive.

We didn't eat, but the food prices were good and the drink prices what you would expect for a Prague tourist area. Would certainly visit this pub again when I'm next in Prague.
