Clear, comfortable, the nearest to hotel, attentive personal. adequate price, good ambience.
Good beer "Kozel" (dark). Menu don't have "Veprevo koleno", but have some national dishes.
Historical brewing photo on walls, international hubbub of visitors, original artifacts in interior.

We used this as our local when we stayed in the Clarion Hotel. The pub had loads of atmosphere with the great high ornate ceilings and the copper effect pipes strewn all around the bar area. The beer was Pilsner urquell, very, very nice indeed and at about £1.50 per 400 mls it was excellent value. The dry white wine was about £1.70 per 175ml glass making a cheap round for me and my wife. It is a must visit pub if you stay in this area and you will love the old type feel of the place and its charm is quite warming.
We did not eat here, but the food looked fantastic and everyone we seen cleared their plate with a vengeance.

For the first sight Deminka is an oldschool prague beer restaurant. Quality of food is fair, and prices are a little bit upscale as for Praha 2 area. Beer is extremely fresh and served properly chilled. The overall image is : a tourist attraction trying hard to look like a restaurant for locals. Alas they are short in locals, and don't have that authentic atmosphere, in spite of hilarious interiors.

We had the Pilsen Goulash with dumplings (white bread and white bread with bacon) which was very tasty but the portions were quite small. One of our children had the tagliatelle with so much fantastic taste of rosemary in a scale we never had before (positive experience). For drinks we had the non-alcoholic beer Birelli from the tap; cool and refreshing, great! The interior of the restaurant is Czech stylish, especially the ceiling is elegant. The restaurant has chairs for babies, and the staff is friendly and smiling. The only downside for us was the thick smoke from the many cigarette smoking guests next to us.

Good portions, traditional Czech food and beer, pretty cheap, very laid back pub atmosphere, English is spoken or at least understood. Menus in English as well.
