“Nice place to stay at good pricing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

Stayed here in December 2012.

Facilities
Dahlia Inn is not really a B&B, but has a more boutique hotel. Its room are clean and its design are fasionable. Toilets are always clean and the heater is good. The bed is comfortable and the room has satellite TV.

Location
The hotel is a bit hard to find if you arrive by public transport, however, it is easily accessible once you know orientate yourself with the surrounding. It is just within 15-20 mins walk from Wencelas Square and 20-30 mins walk from the old town.

Tram 22 is just 3 mins walk away, which brings you to the old town, Prague Castle or Andy's laundromat (very good place for self-service laundry with free coffee/tea and wifi).

Whats more, you get a 10% discount if you eat at Alex Bistro, which is 3 minutes walk from the hotel.

Service
As toggenburg has reviewed earlier, you definitely feel comfortable and relaxed here.

However, what truly add value to this hotel is the service attitude of Mark and his staff. Mark is an exceptionally friendly guy who always remind you to call him whenever you want, "be it good or bad".

When we first reached the hotel, the first thing Mark did was not to collect money from us, but to get us to our room to put down our bags, show us around the hotel, and patiently & enthusiastically explain to us where we can go and how we can get around the city by using a map.

Definitely an excellent recommendation to stay for anyone who is traveling to Prague for the first time and looking for a reasonably priced and comfortable place to stay!

It's nice B&B in a good location which is close to center area, very clean and good price. The heater was effective in the winter!!! Relaxing and comfortable! The room and the bathroom were spacious. The staff can also give you good recommendation of best restaurants and other information. Though we just stayed one night and leave early in the morning, Dahlia inn is highly recommended.

I've used loads of hotels all over Europe and this is my favourite. You feel comfortable and relaxed here. Mark has created something different and if you visit Prague this wonderful B&B delivers the goods. Close to a tram stop, close to the centre, close to restaurants. I love it.

Room Tip: Any of them!

This is a simple, clean and funky place to stay, a short walk to Wenceslas Square, and not much farther to the Old Town area... lots of shopping and restaurants are nearby. Mark is a super-friendly and fun host. Dahlia Inn just has a good vibe. Rooms are small, but a terrific value.

A coworker & I had been in Prague for a week prior, working at one of the larger hotels. We wanted to extend our stay in Prague a couple extra nights to see a few more things without spending a ton of money, and the Dahlia Inn fit the bill perfectly.

This hotel is located in the New Town area - which isn't very far from the historic Old Town Prague. The check-in staff told me everything I needed to know on the very first day as part of their check-in process which was fantastic. There is a way to walk to the main area in the Old Town which only takes 10 minutes max. The area was also very safe at night. There's a nice supermarket nearby and trams right in front of the hotel that will take you to the castle. The bedroom was also nice and clean and so was the bathroom. Breakfast at this hotel was pointless, though. They just buy it for you each morning and it's basically just bread and cereal (I always like a bit of ham in the morning). Staff were really nice and helpful and super friendly. They will tell you everything they need to know about Prague and more. They are also super relaxed and helpful. All in all, this was a great experience!

The rooms are beautiful, staff is very friendly, its location is perfect (not too close not too far from the old town), price is totally affordable and it gives a very comfortable feeling to stay there. I've stayed there twice already and have had good experience both the times. The staff always provides great tips of where to go, what to see, where to eat, how to get there and what to be careful about ! The rooms are very clean and spacious, even the one for single people ! They even have their own "library" of sort where you can borrow books, which you don't find time to do on a hectic routine.

This a top pick by Lonely Planet, that is why i chose it.

As others have noted, the rooms are clean, basic and serve their purpose. While all the tourist sites are within walking distance, none are immediately nearby. The most off-putting aspect of the inn is its exterior. unfortunately, the city block and its first floor do not make a good first impression. there is a small casino next door and the actual building looks a little run down.... its seems a little seedy.

but the owners have done a good job of building a pleasant interior space. The girl who staffed the desk most of the time i was there gave spot on tips on where to eat, buy reasonably priced gifts, etc. Once i got used to the look of the block, i realized that the area seemed safe at night. wi-fi was a little intermittent.

momma's cafe great for breakfast, lehka havla was a great vegetarian restaurant nearby. also noticed -- too late for me to try-- some nice looking pubs across the street that i wish i had noticed earlier.

overall this place was an excellent value for the price.
