“fabulous buffet breakfast”

As a hilton gold member, we have the buffet breakfast every day. The hilton buffet breakfast is outstanding. The service is great. The omelette guy is definitely worth it.

“A surprise for a hotel restaurant”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

The service and the food were excellent and imaginative. It was a bit expensive, but understandable for the scope of the menu.

“Modern Asian in Prague”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

While the food was good (not great), I would have liked some menu choices other than modern Asian. They had very few choices, and I would have thought that they would at least have a couple of Czech dishes on the menu.

Convenient if staying at the Hilton Old Town. Price is high compared to other area restaurants. The chef did come out and asked about the meal which was a very nice touch. He might have had time to do that because I ate there on a Friday night at about 7 PM and was the only patron, which should tell you something about how the locals respond to Zinc.

“Great hotel restaurant for the weary traveler”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

After disembarking in Vilshofen and traveling by bus through the Chech countryside for several hours, we checked into the Hilton Old Town Hotel. At the end of a long day, a nice cold glass of Chech beer was in order (excellent I might add). For dinner that night, we dined in Zinc, the hotel restaurant. The restaurant offers a wide menu but we focused on the Asain fare and we weren't disappointed. Along with more of the excellent Chech Beer we were treated to a basket of wonderful, warm homemade bread that melted in your mouth. My husband and our friend tried the Chicken and Coconut Soup which was large enough to be eaten as a meal but was even better when shared. Next, three of us opted for the Thai Nasi Goreng which was prepared unlike any that you might have tasted stateside while my husband ordered a Vietmanese BBQ dish. The meat was so perfectly seasoned and sauced and while I loved my Nasi Goreng I was sorry I didn't follow his lead for the entree.
In the mornings, Zinc offers a huge buffet breakfast full of fresh fruits, breads, pastries, wonderful coffee, breakfast meats, waffels, and omlets made to order. My only complaint would be that the scrambled eggs offered on the buffet were undercooked for my taste (and that of others) as was the bacon. The omlet chef will cook your bacon more for the asking. A must try for dinner or breakfast.

“Unexpected Choices a Pleasant Suprise”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We visited Zinc because we were looking for something other than heavy Czech food, the restaurant was right across the street from the Marriott in the Hilton and their sign said Modern European. When we arrived at 7 on a Saturday night, the restaurant was empty. We were a bit concerned, but our fears were unfounded. We were delighted to discover that, in addition to continental fare, they have an Asian menu. We started with the mushroom soup, the asparagus salad and the beetroot salad. All were generous portions, attractively presented and very fresh. For entrees we had ravioli (the vegetarian option), chicken two ways, tiger prawns and nasi goreng. All four were beautiful when they arrived, and each dish had unique flavors. All four of us were very pleased with our selections. The service was professional but friendly as well, and both the waiter and busboy spoke fine English to help guide us through our selections. With a glass of champage and a bottle of chardonnay plus four espressos in addition to all that is listed above, we felt that the $100 per couple was more than fair. Hotel restaurants can be mediocre, but such was not the case here. Well worth a visit!
