The best place to go for a romantic walk!! At night the view is just fantastic! There is a park around and usually there are no people. For me the best place for a date ;)

Once you've visited the communism museum (or studies European politics) then this site takes on an added dimension of significance. It was here that a huge statue of Stalin was erected, which cost the state of Czech Republic a huge amount and took many months to complete. It was eventually destroyed in 1962. But go and sit there and see why this was a prime spot for this statue - it overlooked all of Prague, a magnificent view. In 1991, a giant metronome was erected in its place. There's a skatepark behind it and there's always some young people milling about. But you can take a walk from here through the back gardens to Prague Castle.

The metronome is hardly a stunning attraction, but the pairs of shoes and boots attached to it is quite amusing. Good area for skateboarders but also if you want a quiet stroll amongst the trees. Couldn't find the beer garden though - signage is pretty poor. Nice view of the city but not as good as from Petrin Hill.

Looking up into Letna Park at the Metronome is actually the best viewpoint, but, it is definitely worth the trip up into Letna because this area is amazing. You will get amazing views of the city, and the park itself is huge, so there is plenty of space for a quiet walk, or take some time to enjoy a beer at the beer garden (which overlooks the city).
