Description: Since 2008 the restaurant Divinis has been seeking to exceed the expectations of even the most demanding customers and understand that a truly memorable dining experience combines superb food, efficient service and comfortable, ambient surroundings made by Italian architect Luciano Belcapo/Evodecor. Our Chef Jan Kratochvil keeps the best tradition of Italian food with top ingredients and simple preparations. Daily specials are always on the peak of their freshness and are basically the freshest buys from morning market. The wine selection is primarily Italian with many very well known labels in wine industry. Open late each night, the restaurant is also perfect for post theatre dinner. The Estate theatre, State Opera, National theatre as well as other theatres are a short walk away.

We tried to reserve over the phone however we were told they were very busy - when we arrived at the restaurant there was many free tables until the end of the evening.

The food was absolute heaven - after having had our fair share of duck, goulash, wild boar and breweries in CZ, we wanted to try something a little different. This was perfect.

There was no beef tartare so we had the veal carpaccio instead - I think I could have eaten 5 more plates, it was amazing.
Then we had the spaghetti pomodoro, tasty but I wouldn't say it was the best. But maybe I am a little biased because I'm not a big fan of spaghetti.

We then had the veal cheek (chef specialty) - you MUST order this - it was beautiful. We also had the octopus which was perfection.

For dessert, we had the tiramisu (I admit that maybe it was a little too much to have dessert after 2 courses and wine) but it was also very good with a little espresso to accompany it.

A real delight, We were then met by the maitre d, who was a lovely chap. I would say the wine is a little too expensive and we could have benefited from the waiter serving us a little more frequently, or just leaving the bottle on the table since from time to time we had to ask to be served some wine.

Also, the olive oil on the table was really good! ;)

The best Italian in town, with far more friendly waitstaff than Zdenek's Oyster Bar almost next door (which is otherwise great, just let down by awful staff)

Haven’t visited Divinis before. Very nice and welcoming. A bit of elegant country style in central Prague.

Food is Italian and the wine list covers most regions in Italy although some of them were sold out.

Very good service and the staff could explain the suggestions of the day very well in English.

It’s an open kitchen so a recommendation could be that if you’re sensitive for clothing smelling you shouldn’t sit by the two tables closest to the kitchen.

I look forward to my next visit to Prague already.

We ate at Divinis during our short visit to Prague, having booked a table online via their website. We were disappointed therefore to be given a very poor table next to the bar and serving area. The restaurant was busy so no other options were available to us. From the outset the service was haphazard albeit friendly. This is not to be expected from a restaurant with a Michelin Star reputation. The saving grace, however, was the food which was excellent. The service charge was removed from our bill which we appreciated. If they get the service aspect sorted out Divinis will be a first class restaurant.

We tried the set menu with wine parring and was not disappointed. The meal was excellent and the wine complemented the food perfectly.
Really nice staff, nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it.
