“Bad service”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

The food is normal, nothing special, according with the price. Waiters are rude and sometimes a bad smell of sewer arrives. I do not recommand it.

“Good genuine Czech food”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

We had the ribs and the grilled chicken here. Both were very nice, but the best part for my wife was the salad. She had the 'Zelny salad' and was absolutely euphoric about it :)
We also had beer to wash it down with and the Gambrinus was excellent!
The prices were also good, as it is not very central, so they probably do not get too many tourists.
All in all, a good restaurant, well worth a visit!

It was across from out hotel and recommended by friends. So happy the first night that we went back the second night! Great service, food and atmosphere. Family friendly. My daughter danced the night away to the live musicians. Thank you for the memories!

“A nice getaway”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

I had a chance to visit this restaurant more do to the entertainment. A great big restaruant adorned in old Czech costumes...seating or balcony seating overlooking parts of Prague... a big open hearth grill for typical Czech fare. Entertainment on the weekends....definitely worth a visit.

The musicians I heard were originally from Moravia but now residing in Prague. They performed traditional Moravian dance and music (cymbal)

Doing it on your own, one can take the Red metro line to Roztyly and exit the back side of the metro. You will have to walk up a small hill about 50-75 metres. On the back side you can take the paved path or the natural path up the hill...you can see the rooftop of the restaurant...black tiles with orange lettering "Koliba" Also, look for the big Pilsen Urq. neon/green sign on the top.

A great venue for small or big groups.

“Great barbecued meats and live music”
Reviewed February 6, 2012

Had a great evening here. Good food, especially the barbecued meats, which are cooked on a large grill in the middle of the room. Excellent live music, very good value for money and cosy atmosphere. Well worth seeking out!

The gnocchi with sheep's cheese starter was one of the nicest dishes I ate in Prague. Decent Pilsner Urquell, good service. The music we heard was a trio (violin, hammered dulcimer and double bass). They played a range of material, with leanings towards folk and gypsy music, but included quite a few reworkings of "old favourites". They alternated playing for about 30 minutes with taking a break for 20 minutes or so, which I thought was an excellent balance. The music is not amplified so it's at a level you can enjoy without it drowning out conversation.

To get there, take tram number 11 from I. P. Pavlova for 3 stops (get off at Nuselske schody). Then walk down the hill for a few minutes and the restaurant will be on your right. Go through the gate, keep going along the path (there were several small chalet-like buildings either side, ignore these, maybe they're used in the summer?). At the end of the path the main restaurant is on your left.
