We popped up here on a very cloudy/foggy winter day so we could not see the view or even the tower, the restaurant was very busy and there was a small wait to be seated. I thought considering the amount of people service would be slow and food would not be good, I was very wrong. The service for drinks and food was fast, the food came out quickly and was fresh and tasty, and it didn't come with the usual jacked up price that most ski areas put with their food.

Whether your young, old, fit or unfit, this place has to be seen, it is a large hotel restaurant sat on the peak of Liberec ski region, you will always find people walking, cycling or running up, (all a great challenge0 though there is also a cable car. excellent views once inside and the Ice cream is amazing.

It's a really nice place with helpful service. Try some of the unusual meals for Czech restaurants. I have eaten the for few times and the experience was always great. Last time I's there with our small daughter. Place for childrens with toys available in the restaurant and baby chairs as well. I can only recommend this restaurant. If you will be lucky and the weather will allow you to enjoy the excellent view from the top of the mountain restaurant! In that case it's worth to see.

Quality food, great taste, pleasant presentation, a very moderate affordable price, and an AMAZING view from atop the highest mountain peak in the region. Everything was made-to-order, and the menu (written in Czech, German, and English) offered a wide variety of selections, ranging from traditional Czech cuisine to more international fare. Because it's close to the border, the second language of most staff members seems to be German (which worked for us), though most of the waitresses seemed to know a bit of basic English and those who did not were happy to patiently help guests, have you point to the menu to be sure they got the order right, etc.

Having stayed here for a weekend, we only ever saw the restaurant very crowded for two or three hours at midday on Saturday and Sunday. Except for the peak times with more crowds coming during the nicer weather, it was very quiet, and even with the crowds, it was still relaxed and there was no change in the quality of the food or service. Because we visited during the summer and were lucky to have some clear weather, it was particularly nice to have dinner as the sun was setting. Since the aerial cablecar stops running at 7pm, the amount of visitors goes down significantly, and the restaurant atmosphere becomes very cozy.

Breakfast (which was included in our hotel package but is available to the public as well) was very nice, with a lot of fresh fruits, breads, cold cuts, etc., and again, we were lucky to have bright clear weather and a very nice early-morning view.

GETTING HERE:
Parking at the top of the hill is free for hotel guests or 60kc for visitors. Beware, though, that it is a narrow winding road only wide enough for one car (despite being a two-way road!) and since parking atop the mountain is very limited and reserved first for hotel guests, you may find it full and have to turn around and drive back to the lower parking lot.

If you wish to take the cablecar up, you can park at the lower base station for around 100kc, and roundtrip tickets are 120kc per person. Visitors to the mountaintop include hikers, bicyclists, backpacking enthusiasts, etc., who ride the cablecar in only one direction (or not at all!). If you are staying in Liberec without access to a car, you can ride tram no. 3 to Horní Hanychov terminus and walk about 10 minutes to the base station of the cablecar. (There's also additional parking at Horní Hanychov.)

PRICES:
It would be easy for a restaurant in a beautiful location that serves mostly one-time visitors to become an overpriced tourist trap. Fortunately, the management have made this a high-quality restaurant where people can come to relax, take in the view, and enjoy well-prepared fresh food at a local price. Living in Prague, we've grown accustomed to city prices (not to mention the much higher prices in tourist zones) and we had planned to spend more than average at this restaurant just because of its location. On the contrary, we were pleasantly surprised to find that everything was very affordable -- even cheaper than average (non-tourist) Prague prices. Two of us ate two meat-based entrees with side dishes and shared a dessert and a bottle of wine for about 700kc (roughly $40 USD) including tax and tip. It was no more expensive than any standard restaurant in Liberec (the nearest city, at the base of the mountain).

FOR A QUICK VISIT:
If you just want a quick coffee, beer, or snack, there is a buffet-style snack counter located on the ground floor, across from the lobby. Although they have provided some chairs and tables, this is located more towards the center of the tower so it is hard to see much beyond the edge of the walkway that runs around the tower. For a better view, and a break from the wind, try the restaurant upstairs if it isn't too crowded. You can have the same items with a MUCH nicer view for about the same price. (e.g. a beer cost about 3kc more.)

The restaurant is located in the TV tower on top of the Jested mountain. It offers stunning views over the city and surroundings. The food is very good (even if somewhat basic) and the waiters are usually nice and friendly. Beware of the crowds of German tourists - the best time to enjoy a meal here is in the evening. The TV tower contains a small (but very nice) hotel and in the evening, outside operating hours of the cable-car from Liberec, most people in the restaurant are hotel guests. The Jested TV tower is a famous symbol for the city of Liberec and a very interesting example of 1960's architecture - don't miss it.
