Owner description: Sedlec ossuary, a small chapel located in the graveyard of the Church of All Saints, is decorated with the bones of more than 40,000 people.

It was a dark snowy day when we visited this spooky 15th century Ossuary, filled with the bones of 40, 000 people. On the road to Kutna Hora, I had looked at pictures of the inside but nothing prepares you for what has been done with all these human bones. It's chilling yet a very strange experience

We saw the Bone Church as part of a day trip from Prague to Kutna Hora. I would recommend the tour we went on and it is worth seeing the Bone Church. That being said, you don't need to spend more than 15 minutes here as it is fairly small (at least compared to some of the Gothic Cathedrals nearby). It definitely offers a unique experience.

Visited Sedlec Ossuary in the dead of winter - not the best time of the year to see this place. It was dark and spooky to see the 15th centuary Gothic Church decorated with 40,000 skeletons from the church's tomb.

Unless you have a special affiliation to the morbid I would not recommend going to this place. Well, not in the winter I think - nothing else is open except for a little cafe across the church.
The coffee they sold was great though.

I thought the idea of a "bone church" was very intriguing and was excited to see this. While it was a cool experience, it was not as amazing as I thought it would be. It was a small room decorated with bones. Perhaps after seeing the huge churches in the surrounding area, the Ossuary seemed small in comparison.
If you're in the area, definitely go see this, but if you're in Prague or the Czech Republic for a limited time, you can prioritize other attractions. I did love Kutna Hora as a whole.

This is a church where inside there are stacks and piles of real human bones and skulls.I am not too sure about the history behind this special sight, but nevertheless I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see something totally different.
