“Ossuary UNESCO heritage Kutna Hora ( Bone Cathedral)”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

Once again we were hosted by our charming tour guide Sophia who escorted us to and educated us on the famous bone cathedral and world attraction of Kutna Hora.Kutna Hora was a project started in the sixteenth century by a priest who was blind in one eye.It was a mammoth project to take all the bones from the grave pits in the cemetry and give them a dignified resting place. The project was taken up and took ten years to complete in the nineteenth century.Apparently is was fashionable all over Europe at that time to decorate with every part of the human bone anatomy. The cathedral is chilly as they really do not need to heat it ,but the exhibits and the ornamental displays of the bones are really something to behold!

“Something different”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

I have a teen son and this is the only place he has been excited to see! It is small, but very different. Its real bones, and they are everywhere in an artful way.

“Very macabre!”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

This was an eery and sad place to visit. The bone formations/artwork is interesting, in particular the chandelier, but it was sad and at times I felt disrespectful for gawping at all the bones. It's well worth a visit, and don't forget to go upstairs (accessed via some steps outside) to see the little chapel on the next floor.

“weird”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Bohemia has always been a byword for "different" and thsi is about as different as it gets. Not to be missed. We walked from the Sedlec train station calling in at All Saints Church on the way - the distance is a flat 500 metres walk.

“Worlds most Unique Museum !”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

The Museum entry is not so expensive & the Museum is not so big it takes approx 15 Mins to go around it. When you enter the museum you are provided with an Paper in the language you request which has the explanation on the history of this museum. You would be amazed to see the things made out of real human bones. You have a room full of Human skulls made into pyramid, you have the letters made out of Human bones & you would still be able to see some teeths left on some human skulls & that was even more exciting part. Its worth a vist of Money & time.
