Getting to this penzion from the railway station is a long, hilly, 2km walk, so allow about an hour. We later learnt a taxi fare should cost about 150-200 Koruna – you may have to bargain with the driver as there are often no meters in Czech taxis. The owner wasn’t present when we arrived, and the business next door (part of the same building) wouldn’t ring him for us. As we were about to call, his father turned up and rang his son who came over (from where?) in a couple of minutes. It was the only time we saw him. He was polite but hadn’t previously responded to emails when we had queries. At the end of our stay, he organised a taxi (with a meter) for us to travel from his pension to the railway station – 150 CZK ($A7.50). Penzion Weber is fine, although nothing out of the ordinary. The apartment we stayed in was quite large; approx. 5metres x 6 metres. There’s a shared kitchen, and it’s about 5 minutes’ walk to the city square. Considering the price we paid, it was good accommodation, and certainly, value for money. We were in room no.1, and we found that the wifi worked very well when we were next to the wall to the adjoining kitchen. The room has no air conditioning or hair dryer. I liked the bed – it was hardish – which my wife doesn’t like, so he couldn’t win there.
