My wife insisted we visit Cesky Krumlov whilst we were in the Czech Republic and proved to be a highlight of our European trip. We visited in late November so the cooler weather (but not cold) meant fewer tourists to contend with. As CK is such a small place I would hate to think how crowded it would be at peak times. On arrival Jiri made us most welcome, and local chocolates & wafer treats awaited us in our room. We stayed in unit 3 first floor castle view which looked over to the river and castle; a magical sight at night with the castle lit up. The 2 bedroom apartment was very clean, spacious and well equipped with high speed internet connection. The apartments are just a step away from the main square with many restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was arranged through the Grand Hotel across the street.

We travelled from Prague and found the most economical way was via the Student Agency bus @ 180 CK per person and about a 3hr direct trip - the bus had a steward on board and included free coffee and movie. Book the day prior for a reserved seat. From CK we travelled to Salzburg using the services of Daniel at Shuttlebus - a six passenger mini bus @ 1100CK per person door to door - cheaper and more convenient than the train.

Such a relaxing time in the beautiful small town and wished we stayed longer

We were greeted and also checked out by a very pleasant lady otherwise we had no contact with staff as the reception isn't always open. Our attic non castle view room was very cozy. The bed was comfortable although one side had to be accessed by going around and under rafters which resulted in a bump on the head on more than one occasion. You'd think I would learn. Unfortunately the bathroom sink didn't drain properly, something we felt they should have been aware of. The sitting area was dimly lit. The little kitchen space was handy for making tea and the kitchen table very useful. The wifi connection was excellent. The location was perfect, one block from the main square but quiet so you can get a restful sleep. Two good restaurants close by, one directly across from the front door, the other just up the lane.

We greatly enjoyed our four nights at Castle View. We stayed in #2, the attic apartment, which was beautiful. Only trouble was I needed earplugs because we like to keep windows open for fresh air and the little lane outside could be noisy.
Very friendly and helpful staff too. Got our fourth night free with Rick Steve's Guide.
Absolutely would recommend it.

This is the besy spot in Cesky Krumlov. First off, CK is very small, so anythin its town limits is a great location. But the hospitlaity that you receive at this spot is second to none.

The owner met us at a later time than expected due to a delayed train. He showed us our room, which was amazing, overlooking the castle. The room had a huge bed, a sofa, a breakfast area, reading room (thank you Rick Steves). It was on the top floor, but cannot remember the room number (maybe #1).

Anyway, the location was basically on the main square, aned there was a great eating spot just outside the hotel, across the walkway.

All in all, this was a quiet location, good for families or couples, in a most beautiful area of CK.

Based on previous reviews we booked a room at the Castle View Apartments, located just off the main square. We had the attic room with a castle view. It couldn't have been more perfect. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. In the evening when the castle is lit up, we had a perfect view right out our window. Breakfast was served at the Grand Hotel at the corner. Cesky Krumlov is one of the most charming cities you could ever visit. I highly recommend visiting the town and staying at the Castle View Apartments.
