This place reminds you of the fairy tales of childhood. The overall place seems to be a page from one of those books. Before booking this accommodation I had no idea about this small town in Czech bordering Austria. You need to visit this place to believe. The hotel was another feather in the crown. Excellent service, spacious rooms(split level) with a dedicated sitting area. Clean washrooms. Have not tried out the B'fast so can't comment. But the overall feel of the accommodation is worth the money spent.

Now we regret not staying another couple of nights in this fairyland.

See you soon.

We stayed for one night in the room with excellent desing and beautifull view on the city. Unfortunately it was too hot to use sauna in our bathroom :-) This pension is designed with modern touch, which is great in the old house. Location few steps from the center on the quiet place. Breakfast tasty. Personal very kind and helpfull. I forgot my mobil charger in the room. It was back home in few days.

We made a booking via Booking.com for 2 nights in the Sauna Apartment. However this room was already occupied as it had been double-booked via their private website. We were relegated to the attic despite a request that we stay at least the second night in the room. We were given a discount for the mix up but would have preferred to pay full price for the room of our choice. The attic rooms are characterful but would not recommend them for guests with bad knees or mobility issues. There are steep wooden steps to negotiate and a large beam to step over in the middle of the landing. The room is split level and guests have to step up one level and the down again to go between the bed and the bathroom. This became very tiresome over 2 days. The ceiling slopes low over the bed and the overhead beams are a hazard. My husband hit his head several times during our stay. The attic room has an airconditioner as it can get VERY hot in summer. Even on a mild night we had to sleep with the skylight open. There were no extras that one would expect from a boutique hotel, minimal toiletries, no showers cap, the bath mat was tiny... Bottled water was an extra cost. The views are over-rated. The window is tiny and you actually need to poke your head through the opening to get an view. A simple breakfast was served in an atmospheric old cellar but the wooden steps and low doorway are hazardous. The cooked breakfast itself was basic.

Room tip: Avoid the attic

Very cute, very clean and inexpensive place with sincere service.
Breakfast has a variety of options ranging from cold meat cuts to eggs prepared to your taste. Kitchen is very well equipped for eat-in meals. The bathroom is very light and spacious, with a jacuzzi bath and candles for a romantic evening.
Parking is available on site (in the courtyard).
We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor, which was convenient considering our large suitcases.
The hotel is situated on a quiet street away from the busy old town yet only two mins walk to one of the old town gates.

We loved our time at the Pension Athanor in Cesky Krumlov. We stayed 4 nights in the apartment with the whirlpool. It was HUGE and extremely clean. There's a living room, with sofa (a pull-out bed inside) plus a dining table for 4 people. The bathroom is very spacious, with the whirlpool tub as well as a washing machine. Having a washing machine was extremely helpful because we had already been to Prague for a week and had plenty of laundry to wash. The kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, two-burner cooktop, sink, and electric kettle. Bedroom had a king bed and lots of storage. Breakfast in the cellar was lovely with eggs cooked to order, a variety of meats, cheeses, veggies, and breads. The ladies who worked there were all very friendly and helpful.

If we come back to Cesky Krumlov, we definitely will stay here again. The location was great--just a short walk (although down about 80 steps) into the heart of Old Town, yet there was very little outside noise. They also have off-street parking which was a great feature (just be sure to read the directions on their website because the parking is behind the pension, and you'll drive through an arch in a yellow building to get to it).
