All the rave reviews about CK are totally on point. While some may find this lovely town a little too "touristy", most will be taken in by the charm and sense of history. It is so much fun to walk around and explore the shops, buildings, and side streets. Rather than repeat much of the other reviews, I want to highlight two tips.

First, stay over night. The town is VERY different once the day crowds from Prague have left on their tour buses. In fact, it may be the crowds which some are really pointing to when they refer to CK as being too touristy.

Second, leave most of your luggage locked in the trunk rather than try to lug it to your B&B. If you are lucky, you will be able to book accommodations at a property that both has it's own parking and is within walking distance to town. Most of the accommodations, however, will not meet both criteria. As a result, one can see a handful of tourists each day trying to carry or roll their heavy bags across the town. The streets are not meant for this, and you are certain to break the wheels in your luggage, if you don't die of a heart attack first. Do yourself a favor. You are probably staying only overnight. Just take what you will need overnight, plus any valuables, and leave the rest in your car trunk. :)

We were in Prague and decided to do a day trip after having read about the place. The train ride from Prague to Cesky Krumlov took about 4 hours, followed by about half an hour of walking from the train station to the town. The place is not very big and easy to navigate. There are small streets here and there, and nice shops lining the streets as well. It was enjoyable just walking about to explore the place. We went to have a look at the castle and visited the museum as well, and took some nice fotos. Lovely place!

I was told Cesky Krumlov was a nice town, but when I got here I was floored. I can't believe how beautiful it is from almost any angle. I really could see living here. The locals seem great, it's not *too* over-run with tourists, and everyone is so friendly (not the "I want your money" friendly, they're genuinely friendly.) I am so coming back.

We had planned to stopover at Cesky Krumlov while on our transfer from Salzburg to Prague.

We had hired a shuttle company mike chauffer and they had help us to arrange a local guide at Cesky Krumlov.

CK is a lovely old town. Our guide Mr Christian Farrell was a great guide with lots of passion for his home town. During the 2 hrs tour, he provided us with many information of Cesky Krumlov history.
We all enjoyed the sightseeing and tour provided by him. We took down his email contact too, so we can recommend to our friends.

Although we had only 4hrs stopover at Cesky Krumlov, we really loved this city.

Do visit Cesky Krumlov, no regrets!

We visited Cesky Krumlov as part of a tour from our river cruise. This was by far the most beautiful and enchanting city, and one of my favourites of the trip.
