Is this. Yes, go on a free walking tour. Get yourself orientated in this beautiful little town with the help of very capable tour guides. Then if you feel like you want more, then go on their specialised paid tours. You won't regret this.

We did the 10:30 tour on a sunny day in late November. The city is amazing and has a great history, and our guide Ondrej knew all the details. Definitely a must do to get an overview of the city, simply great!

We went with Ondrej - started on time at the square. He took us on a very comfortable two-hour walk through Cesky Krumlov. He introduced us to the stories, history, architecture, and some of the lesser-known treasures of this wonderful town. We learned a LOT in the two hours, which ended up at a post-card-worthy view from the Castle garden. Great walk. We'd recommend it for a 'first-thing' when visitors arrive in Cesky Krumlov. Ondrej was both knowledgeable and personable. We couldn't have asked for more - Wonderful orientation and a lot of local 'intel'.
