My husband really enjoyed our trip to this brewery and museum. We were there on a very slow day. The downside to that was no brewery tours. Thd upside was we did a museum tour all by ourselves.

We knew nothing about the great Budweiser controversy before we went. We both thought it was very interesting and entertaining. Good souvenir shop and an easy bus ride from the town center.

Tour in brewery is interesting for everyone, not only for beer drunkers. You will see all important parts of brewing and brewery, you will taste special beer in the lager cellar and you will see brewhouse, cellar and bottling.

If you are into brewing, and the various offerings in the Czech Republic, the Budvar brewery is a nice place to visit if you are in the area. That being said, it does not truly have the cache, or the history, of the Pilsner Urquell brewery in Plzen.

When you are driving to this attraction, look for a glass building with a tower pole saying, "Navstevinicke Centrum" in red and "Visitors Centre" in black, with a white "B" on a red shield at the top. See my photo from the inside of the building.

There is lots of parking just west of the complex. The main road Prazska tr / E55 / E49 / 3 runs north/south and the attraction is on the west side of it.

There is a daily tour in English at 14:00 hours daily and my wife and I, along with 6 other people took it. They have a multimedia tour, but unfortunately, that requires pre-planning as it requires a minimum of 8 people.

Our tour guide was a young man who spoke excellent English and the tour was more interesting than I thought it'd be. The tour goes through the important parts of entire complex explaining how beer is made. Our tour guide noted that we were from Canada and gave us 2 beer bottle stickers with English and French, how nice!

4 people in our tour group were Italian and one person was trying to translate for the other 3. It didn't work very well, as our guide had much to say pausing for the translator would have taken an unreasonable amount of time.

You get to sample "live beer" and the smell of malt in the "sweet water" area is wonderful. The live beer is smooth and doesn't have that aftertaste we don't like.
Apparently, the beer recipe here is different from the Budweiser sold in North America.

The souvenir shop has beer for sale (but not chilled) and other beer related stuff.

A wonderful attraction, even for those that are big time drinkers like ourselves.

We did the brewery tour on our way to Vienna. We were late for regular daily tour but the we asked the receptionist if we could join the next tour so they allowed us and we were able to do the tour.
We had trouble to find brewery so they might think about putting signs how to get there but otherwise it was great experience.
