I spent 3 days, 2 nights at Keleti Resort and had a very peaceful, relaxing time. It's on the south side of Tongatapu quite a distance from anything else. If you want a spot where you can watch the waves crash on the reef and feel quite remote from Nuku'alofa, this is the spot for you. If you want to be within walking distance of shops and restaurants, you'll be sorely disappointed. You can get into town - either Vinny or Liz will take you, or you can use your own vehicle - but walking would be near impossible. The staff were very friendly. I enjoyed all the meals I had there. Keleti is quite good value for money.

This was my second stay at Keleti Resort. Free pickup at the airport by Vinnie and taken back to the Resort makes your arrival worry free. Then into Nukulofa Town for 5 pa anga by Vinnie to change money at money exchange next to the Escape travel Restaurant. Fales have their own toasters, microwave, fridge, plates and knives so you can have breakfast on your verandah whilst looking out at the beautiful ocean view. Hired a vehicle which was arranged by Vinnies wife Liz and it was delivered within 1/2 hour.....not many forms to fill out only need your Australian Drivers licence. Drove around Tongatapu in one day driving through villiages and historic sites. Visited Fa Fa island which is a 30 minute boat ride from the main island...cost was 69 pa anga including lunch and desert....there is also accommodation on the island if you wish to stay. Big thankyou to the kitchen staff who work from 8am-8pm...7 days a week so food is always at hand at this resort which is an assest as most have set times and a lot of them are closed on Sundays.
Beds are comfortable and rooms are serviced daily..... also if it is really hot weather, they all have a fans to cool the room down with the help of the cool breeze from the pacific ocean at your door steps. Going to sleep at night with the sound of waves is just so relaxing and when you wake up you open the your door to paradise.
What you see it what you get in Tongan so if you are looking for 5 star resorts you wont get it here unless you stay closer to town. After two days you will understand that this is Tonga and by the end of your holiday you wont want to leave and you can understand why it is called the friendly islands!!!
And guess what...Im going back again next year for my third time!!!!!

Room Tip: Buy some breakfast items and just have your own breakfast at your Fale. If you need a tea pot just a...

Vini and his wife were very helpful and laid back. Just a few people there, most of us in transit to another island. the food and the prices are very reasonable, compared to most other places in Tonga. Note: prepared meals at Tongan guest houses and resorts are ridiculous. We returned for a half day the next week (again in transit) and Vini gave us the island tour for $50 paanga each for 5 hours in his van. The accommodations are small, rustic, in need of some cleaning and touch ups, but to be fair, keeping up any place in Tonga is quite a challenge. Hot showers and internet were a plus. "island time" applies for meals and just about anything else...they do charge TOP10 p/p to transfer back to the airport, but free pick up when you arrive. too far to walk to town, but nice ocean view....no swimming-- too rough and rocky.

We were personally picked up by Vinny at the airport and given a very warm welcome. The resort is in a nice location overlooking the sea and blowholes on the beach. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food good. Although we only stayed one night, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this resort.

Guests are made to feel so welcome at Keleti. It started with Vini meeting us at the airport at about midnight and taking us to the resort and ensuring we settled in for the night. The next morning we ate a delicious breakfast while we looked out over the ocean. The staff look after you very well. In our time there we were driven to town, picked up from town, twice, and taken to a Tongan Feast and of course picked up from and dropped off again at the airport. Nothing was too much trouble and I am sorry we did not spend more than 3 nights experiencing the hospitality of Vini, Liz and the staff. When you stay at Keleti you are away from the bustle of town and you can hear the waves breaking all the time. So relaxing. If you are really lucky, like we were, you will see the whales from the deck. The ensuited rooms in the fales are comfortable and clean with plenty of room for a couple. Just loved the atmosphere, the little beach below the resort and the trees and plants around the fales. There is a relaxing, natural feel. It is not a place for anyone who wants absolute modern luxury that you find in many glossy brochures. Keleti is not expensive either:good value.

Room Tip: The ensuited rooms with queen bed are very comfortable. All of these are well placed.

We stayed here twice and found the owners Vinci and Liz and their staff welcoming and attentive. Lovely to hear the surf crashing on the rocks from the fale, and we saw whales on our last morning in tonga. Airport drop off and pick ups were a bonus. Clean rooms, good linen and hot showers. Bar and deck area very nice.

Keleti is a nice place to stay on Tongatapu if you want to be away from the noise of Nuku'alofa, but still close enough to be able to drive into town. We stayed in a one bedroom fale, which was a little small, but nice and clean. Be aware that if you stay here, it is a fale - not a house, and so it won't be perfect and you might get Ghekos crawling into your room etc, but that's part of the experience!

Keleti is a nice little resort and is very peaceful. To be honest, the beach itself isn't that fantastic, but the view from the restaurant is lovely. The restaurant food itself is okay - nothing fantastic - but there's nothing wrong with it and if you don't want to eat in the restaurant they can bring it to your room.

Staff were wonderful and very helpful. We came in on quite a late flight, so it was nice to be met at the airport.

Overall, would highly recommend to others.
