This hotel is amazing! It is a piece of heaven in Puerto Princessa with great facilities and hotel amenities that is truly world class. Pnoy (the President of the Philippines) even stayed here. It is the resort of choice of most celebrities and VIPs and I can see why. The spa is very relaxing and the service is excellent. Massage on the beach anyone? Heaven! Food is also sumptuous and at reasonable prices. The swimming pool is a dream come true with a pool side bar and a very convenient pool lounge area with sun beds what more can you ask for? The staff are marvelous and well trained. The room was delightful with beautiful interiors, very modern and classy. The bathroom was spotless and nice. I recommend that you avail of the Underground river tour which the hotel will happily arrange for you. It was included in our hotel package but I'm not sure how much it costs seperately. Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa is THE place to stay in Puerto Princessa.

I llove love love Sheridan! I'm considering holding my wedding here as a destination wedding. It's a great alternative to Thunderbird or Bellarocca.

This hotel has the ambition of being a 5 star resort but is failing severely. We had several problems already at check-in. We booked the rooms through their sales office in Manila who told us it was not possible to stay more than two people in the same room. Since we were two big families we had to go for several rooms.even though we preferred to have the children in 1-2 rooms. Upon check-in it turned out that they in fact don't have any such rules. They were at first not willing to change the booking even though we had explicitly asked for this since "it is not possible to change it now". After arguing a while they agreed to have the children in 2 instead of 3 rooms.

We were asked to pay the complete bill upon check-in. When we asked for a receipt they gave us a hand written paper with no explanation what to pay for. We asked for an official receipt with a breakdown on what to pay for which they were not able to give us. They could neither explain the total price since "the system doesn't show that" until check-out. So why asking us to pay at check-in? This was also solved after some arguing and they agreed to have the payment at checkout but it was a bit of a tiring process.

The bad experience then continued. We had lunch and dinner here both days. At each order they were out of at least 2 things (Coca Cola, sparkling wine, juice etc etc).

The service was mediochre.

The rooms were nice and clean and nothing to complain about and the pool area nice which saves it from a 1 star rating.

If your single and looking for a place where you could do some soul searching, Sheridan Beach resort and Spa is the perfect getaway. The place is very serene and at the same time it has a lot of fun activities to do. Whether you're a traveler who's looking for adventure nor looking for some alone time, this is the place to be! Just 20 minutes away from the Underground river, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, what more can you ask for?

Room Tip: Choose the room with a pool view for people watching. =)

Really enjoyed stay. We were on Honeymoon from Manila. All the photos are really representative of the hotel. We should have stayed there longer.

The staff were really helpful. Even threading a needle for us and coming up with fresh coconut even when there we none officially available in Sabang!

I am from Australia but enjoy Filipino food so am not dependent upon burgers and pasta. We ate A-La-Carte and the most impressive feature was the way the freshly prepared dishes arrived just at the right moment to suite our eating speed.

We did have a glass of House Red that was tasting of diesel but the staff explained that it came from California and changed it for free. From then on they bought us a free sample.

Buffet breakfast was not so good and our table was cleared when we were in the Omelet queue.

Sabang beach is an ocean beach and there were breakers but not too many rips and very clean. No evidence of pollution or Marine Stingers. We did see broken glass down by the boats.

Room Tip: Make Sure transfers are included

My family and I have flown in from the East coast of the US and stayed at the Sheridan for 3 days. When we arrived in Puerto Princesa we already realized that they should provide more shuttle services during the day, both to and from the resort. We booked a room with a pool view on the ground floor way back in October and was surprised to find out that there was no room available for us when we arrived. The staff was overwhelmed and we had to wait at least an hour to get a room with a mountain view up on 2 to get prepared - more like room with a backyard view.

Secondly, everytime we went to their restaurant we were asked if 1) we had reservations and 2) they kept on asking for our room number. There was one point when 3 different staff members asked us for our room number during our first 10 minutes there. Did not understand the significance of it when we paid in cash. We've also seen upset customers who waited half an hour for coffee to be served, and the buffet plates took forever to be refilled.

Also, my 5-year old daughter got shocked on one of the recessed lights on the floor by the pool area close to the beach. My husband reported it to one of their maintenance guys but not sure if they followed through. 3rd, my husband and best friend had food poisoning on our last night at Sheridan. When brought up to the nurse we were told that at least 40% of the guest population should have it before they declare it as food poisoning. I could've gone door to door but it's weird that both my companions ate the same meal in their restaurant and the reaction was almost immediate.

Thumbs up to the bartender, Mike, and one of the staff at the buffet, Denmark.

Spent three nights at the Sheridan to view the Underground River.
reception staff are outstanding- (special mention of Raylene)
Facilities are great. Nice rooms, good pool, nice beach.
Lots of staff, and very friendly- but some training needed
I understand with the remote location access to fresh foods must be difficult.
A chef trained in Western food would also be an added necessity as the amount of foreign tourists grow. The A la carte menu- although Western - such as Spagetti Bolognaise, and Pizzas- did not taste the way they normally do. Unfortunatley not all international travellers have adventurous palates, and would like have food as they know it.
This is a hotel with great potential. The staff are friendly but waiting 30-45 minutes for a cocktail or food at the pool is unacceptable.
Due to the quick room turnover staff only did a room make-up after 2pm, which is too late.

Room Tip: Rooms ground floor garden facing smell damp. Go for second level.
