Our stay was far too brief, as it was a stopover on way to see friends. Sally was the perfect host, it's just a shame we couldn't have stayed and chatted over breakfast longer. So comfortable and relaxing. Immaculately clean and tidy. Obviously a very happy family home and you're made to feel so welcome. Next time we'll stay longer with lots of walking to allow for the superb breakfast.

I stayed here as part of a stag party. We occupied the self catering cottages but arranged to stay on a B&B basis. Our hostess could not have been more obliging and we had a nice stay.

If you are looking to stay in this area, then this would be a good choice, without a car it was difficult to get to.

We are very familiar with beautiful Rutland and wanted to rent adjoining properties for a couple with dog (us) and a family of 5. We were prepared to sacrifice our own accommodation to ensure our friends were well catered for, so we were delighted when we found that Lettuce lodge was much bigger than we expected! Beautifully furnished, immaculate and with a small enclosed patio for our dog.
Our friends had Carrot Cottage, a bungalow around the corner and it was also beautiful, well equipped and just right for the family.
The grounds are lovely, and a short stroll from the local pub (recommended!). We're we're really overjoyed at this find and cannot fault it at all. Book now! (Thanks Sally!)

We were in Rutland for a family wedding and stayed for just one night - 2 of us in the main house and 2 in Lettuce Lodge. Quite honestly one of the best places we've ever stayed - comfortable, clean, everything you could want. Great hosts too, very welcoming without being over the top. We would have no hesitation in recommending and look forward to returning next time we're in the area.

.... it really should be called 'Lettuce Bottom'!

Tucked away on the edge of Manton village in the south west corner of Rutland Lake, it makes for the ideal grown-up get away. With the children safely dispatched to cub camp Broccoli Bottom allows us to slow down and enjoy the pleasures of walking in beautiful country side, having a conversation like you used to and strolling to and from the local village pub which allows you one or two for the road!

We stayed with friends in Fennel Folly for 2 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. There‘s little to fault; it has a quality feel to it done with great taste, comfort and very good value. The owner’s style perfectly complements the places quirky yet calm nature.

Don't take my word for it….
