“Excellent site, helpful staff”

Just spent a week at this site in a Eurocamp two bed Caravan with decking. Cannot fault the site, owners and staff or Eurocamp in any way at all.
Caravan very clean, good location with hedges between placements.
Very hot weather so cool pool was a delight. In comparison the sea at St Jean De Montes was warmer but not very clear.
Walks around the lake are well laid out and kept clear.
Restaurant and amenities very good. Would recommend this site especially for any people with disabilities.

Fantastic setting, friendly staff, lots of facilities, however:
1. The pool is rather chilly, and even the very small toddler pool is cold, I was expecting that to be warmer. Our 3 month old could tolerate it (after a bit of initial protest), but not for long, and our 2 year old's lips went blue after a while. It's not freezing, and once you're in it's OK, but it certainly could be warmer.
2. Also we went in the 1st week in September which is the end of their season and all the toddler clubs had shut up shop which was disappointing. I can understand if the older children stuff was closed as they would be back at school, but doesn't seem to make sense to close the toddler clubs and activities.
3. It is a bit remote, although close to some nice beaches, but if you're looking to experience more traditional French stuff there isn't that much near by. You'd need to drive to Nantes or La Rochelle (1 hour+)
Having said all that we had a brilliant time and the weather was good, would have easily got 5 stars if pool was warmer and toddler clubs were on.

A fantastic campsite with amazing facilities. We stayed in a African Safari Tent and wouldn't consider anything different in the future. A great camping community feel, great Euro/Key Camp kids clubs, evening care via the campsite kids club is ideal when you want a quiet meal in the restaurant but a little more relaxed and structured than the tour operator style kids clubs that we were used to. Everything you could probably want is on site from takeaways, to bars, a shop, pools including waterslides, evening entertainment and shows, bouncy castles, trampolining pony trekking, horse riding, pedal karting, cycling, running and walking routes, fishing, pedalos, row boats, amazing woodland/rural setting, 15 minutes to the nearest fabulous beaches, El Delfin a mile down the road is a must. Clean facilities all over the site and the showers are great.
Just one downside...I tried to book for next year as soon as I got back and they are already fully booked!!!

Room Tip: If you can get one, I would definitely recommend trying an African Safari Tent, perfectly placed for...

We are just back from our 2nd visit camping at this site. It is a fabulous site for young families with lovely on-site facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is a clean, well maintained site which gives great access to the surrounding areas.

We are already planning to go back for our 3rd time next year.

One thing we would say is that some might not feel it offers much for teenagers but, to be fair, we kind of like this. I would much prefer to spend some quality time with my teenager than have them disappear to some awful arcade or like-wise that they would find in the UK.

We have just returned for two weeks' stay at this campsite and once again found it very good. We stayed with Keycamp who looked after us well, although we weren't keen on their kids club this year.

Whilst the site was quite busy, it is extremely well run. There is lots to do, including archery, table tennis, crazy golf, boating, peddle karts, wine tasting, swimming and climbing and zip wires at the nearby grand defi.

The restaurant is very good and we also enjoyed the pancake party in the garden which they have twice a week. The shop and takeaway are also good.

The swimming pool was busy most of the time; the water temperature was fine.

My only two crtisms are 1. They could do with a couple more table tennis tables, as all three were being used most of the time and 2. The swimming pool slides tended to open late and close early.

Yet another great holiday at La Garangeoire. We stayed again on a touring caravan pitch with electricity. The pitches at this site are massive compared to what we are used to in the UK. We could easily have got two vans onto the pitch we were on. The site has been going from the sixties so the hedges around the pitches are mature and offer a good deal of privacy. All the facilities on the site are good but the main thing is this site is absolutely spotless. You will often see the owners Eric and Anne picking up minute scraps of paper. This is a family run site and the owners live in the Chateau which is the central feature you see when you drive up the tree lined entrance road. This environment is a safe place for kids to enjoy themselves, lots of activities organised every day. The surrounding area offers great beaches both Rivera style resorts and miles long quiet stretches. We’ve looked at other sites in this region but to be honest we are scared to go anywhere else in case it doesn’t live up to La Garangeoire. Small gripes are - on a hot day in July/August the pool area is simply too small to cope with the numbers, but the beach is a better option on a really hot day anyway. The kids menu in the restaurant/takeaway is a bit limited. Other than that there’s not much negative to say about this site.

We spent five nights at La Garangoire at the end of August. We arrived late afternoon, it was clear to see on driving up the road to the site that this was five star. We was checked in by Victor who was lovely, spoke excellent English and gave us all the information for our stay, then he got on his bike and showed us to our pitch. We requested a fridge, which was at our pitch when we arrived. The pitch was huge! each pitch is secluded by shurbs, hedges and trees. This is a peaceful site with a strict no noise rule after 1030pm, which did not bother us but if you want more of a lively site then this is not the site for you. The showers and toilets are pristine (with toilet roll), power showers, hairdryers etc.

There is a full entertainment programme which is great if you do not wish to travel further a field. We did the archery, which we all liked, our son is 14. The pool is small but we went at the end of season so this was perfect, plenty of sunbeds and not too busy in the pool. The restaurant is very nice, we did have a little wait to be served but the food is delicious, mussels highly recommended, the wine is very reasonably priced 5.50 euros for half carafe. The shop is okay it has the essentials, however we drove to the supermarket which is around 15 minutes away. The bar is a nice to relax in the evening. They have a crepe evening which is well worth it, basically a table with pancake grills in the middle and you make your own! brilliant.

A must to do whilst you are here is visit the Puy Du Fou. The night time show "Cinesceine" is outstanding, totally blew us away. Take a blanket though, it gets quite cold and some snacks. It takes 1 hour to get there from the site , take the toll road it is only 4 euros. Worth every penny. We did not really see anything else during this trip but we will certainly be visiting other places in the area next year when we go back.

If you want a five star holiday, which is relaxing and hassle free then this site is faultless. If you want a bit more of a lively atmosphere with late nights then I would not recommend you go here. There is loads of activities for younger children here, kids clubs, play grounds, pony rides etc, very well catered for children.

Excellent site, we will be visiting this site again. It is also only 4 hours 30 minutes from Roscoff, perfect for us.
