What a nice and curious view, very good to make a stop while driving and passing there. Amazing and very well preserved place! I only felt the need of more explanation over there.

A small castle that is easy to walk around and has a small museum in ‘the keep’ (watch tower). Is located beside grain stores which are very picturesque!

We had a lovely time just wandering about here. The castle is not huge but quite interesting and has an archaeological exhibition within it. The main event is the grain stores outside, quite an unusual feature. It's a beautiful location and a photographer's paradise, birds and wildlife galore. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues but the drive up the mountain is worth doing for the views and the walk around the area.

This town located just by the border between Spain and Portugal boasts an interesting attraction: its castle. This place, full of history, doesn´t seem to be very restored so it gives you a nice sensation of authenticity. On the other hand, this implies that some parts of it aren´t very comfortable to stroll around if you don´t have an adequate shoes or in case you come with small children or older people. Anyway, it´s not especially difficult and a walk all around the defensive wall will afford you nice views over the green valley where Lindoso stands which are in vivid contrast with the bare mountains on the horizon. There´s a peculiar view from the castle: there is a good numbers of what we call in Spanish "hórreos" (I don´t know the English nor the Portuguese word for it) which are a traditional construction very common in the north-west of the Iberian peninsula that farmers of old used to build as granaries placed on stone pillars. There are at least thirty or more of them around the castle and they deserve a photo or two.
