Thank you Alex & Emma who are the Proprietors of the Red Lion. We had a wonderful family Birthday for our daughter at this family friendly Pub/Restaurant! The french Chef Fabian made an amazing Birthday Cake and a very tasty Roast with all the trimmings for a party of 26 people (including 6 children)!
The Function room was tastefully decorated and had a warming log fire! We are really impressed with this place and would highly recommend it!

Thank FabDior

Recently moved to the area and saw the sinpost to this pub on the A20. Decided to have a look on a Friday afternoon, so glad we did! I had the French onion soup and my husband the vegetable, both were superb. A good thing really considering the chef is French! We then had the pork belly (me) and fish and chips. Again we couldn't find fault other than to say the portions were so generous we couldn't manage dessert! However we were so impressed we booked up for Sunday lunch!

Sunday lunch was just as good. I was even able to have crackling with my beef! A good generous selection of vegetables and this time we decided to forego the starters so we could fit in the dessert we'd missed out on on the previous trip. So glad we did as the tarte tatin was delicious.

The staff are lovely, friendly and the chef pops out to make sure you're happy witt yiur food. Can't wait to go back again.

We visited on Saturday evening 14th January. We booked ahead and were given a copy of menu, which looked good, if a bit limited. The owner subsequently sent over an updated menu with more choices.

The pub had a very friendly feel, and the staff were very welcoming. We all enjoyed our meals - the food was very nicely cooked and presented. We were seated in a room at the back of the pub, which, given the noise we were making, was probably a good idea!!

The French chef was excellent and clearly passionate about the food he was serving up. He came out to talk to us a couple of times during our meal.

Someone mentioned the ladies being out of order - yes they still are, but the disabled toilets are fine to use as an alternative.

Someone also mentioned the wine cellar. As far as we knew, there wasn't a wine list at all! We weren't shown one, but rather asked what sort of wine we liked. The wines we had (both red and white) were absolutely top notch - especially considering this is a local pub - and served at exactly the right temperature. Unfortunately, I think we drank the cellar dry!!

All in all, we had a fantastic evening and would definitely visit again. We were staying at a holiday rental nearby, but it is worth a special trip!

Friendly staff. Lovely pub. Good atmosphere. Walked there for lunch from our rented cottage. Small menu but very good options to suit all needs. Excellent local sausages. My wife and I really enjoyed a relaxed lunch.

I have now visited The Red Lion twice for food
The first time was on a week night with a friend to chat and pass the evening away. What a great time we had, we didn't want to leave, The food was amazing, really good tasty flavours and choices, the music playing was great and the cosy fire was really warming.Very welcoming staff , we enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we decided to try their Sunday Roast. We sat in the bar area this time and again spent a lovely afternoon eating really hearty good food and enjoying the atmosphere . Very relaxed and happy. Look forward to going again.
