Our visit here was part of a day trip that also included the impressive salt mines - and the winery was certainly a lovely contrast!

Wine tasting in "Romania's Tuscany" along the 45th parallel latitude which links the famous Bordeaux, St. Emilion and Tuscany wine region with Romania's Dealu Mare is worth the trip from far, as it s so much more sophisticated and authentic than eg wine story telling in California's Napa Valley. Even Robert Mondavi's Opus One winery can't compete with LacertA, both for the experience at the winery and the quality & taste of the wines. We particularly enjoyed the 2011 limited edition Cuvée IX, one of the masterpieces of winemaker Mihai Banita. A true wine adventure, drive to Fintesti and experience the Tuscany style landscape and the fabulous LacertA winery.

The Lacerta winery is a great example of the Romanian wine potential. Over 80 hectares of winery in the middle of the Dealu-Mare region, a modern investment and the passion of local people make it a place which will surprise you. The wines are great and the local kitchen, serving great Romanian food, including delicious pies, will give you a lasting experience. We had the chance of a full moon show ... You'll experience a tour of the winery, taste several wines and have a good lunch or dinner while enjoying the company of your friends/colleagues. And you can also buy the wine of your choice straight from the source! Although remote, definitely worth the visit.

I love this winery, I have visited a few times now already, and it is in my opinion the best in Dealu Mare region! They have excellent wine and the guided tour of the cellar is very professional and interesting, also available in english language. The wine tasting room si also beautifully decorated and gives a spectacular view over the wide vineyard

I have been visiting Lacerta Winery 6 or 7 times in the latest years and each time I have been so pleasantly impressed about the quality of the winery design and surrounding, the high level of their wines and, very important, about the owners and personnel, all very welcoming, patient and knowledgeable as regards their work and the world of wine. A special thank you for Walter (owner) and Mihai (wines creator) and big congratulations for their very good wines and achievements. Always glad to return.
