A local man who was working on the house we stayed at told us this was his favorite beach on the island, and that every time he went here he couldn't help but say, "Wow!" We stopped here a few times after picking up some patties at the bakery in GH and would spend the mornings here having a small picnic. The beach is so beautiful, and as another reviewer mentioned, the famous pink sand is very noticeable here- it was actually where we filled up a bottle of sand to bring back home with us.

Lighthouse Beach is the 'King of Beaches', and Pink Sands Beach is the 'Queen of Beaches'. Then 'French Leave Beach' is 'The Standard Bearer of Beaches'. The beach is 1 mile long, and does have the famous pink hue to it. Located on the windward side (Atlantic) of Governors Harbour, right in the middle of Eleuthera. This truly is a postcard beach, and one of the most popular beaches on the island. It is wide with a slight crescent shape. Entrance to the water is sandy all along, and plenty of wave action on windy days. There is a small Cay on the south end, which is worth snorkeling.
For restaurants 'The Beach House' is just a short walk down a sandy path, with excellent food.
