“What an excellent property and people...........”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

It is one of the most beautifully located, spacious and well maintained resort.
The biggest asset that this hotel has is, its culture and the way they treat their guest.
I applaud the team and management of Leisure Hotels for installing this into their system.
Other thing which needs special mention is the excellent food quality, display, attention to details.
So considerate for their vegetarian guest to put the non-veg food on a separate table.
Surprisingly the welcome was cold and although only a few people to check in, it took them time and I had to to make sound to be heard.
I don't know why but the rooms were not up to mark. The sofa covers were dirty, the bathroom sheet was broken and chunks of white cement on the floor, termite, rusted frame etc. Complained and the same was promptly attended to but could not do the needful.
Please don't miss the river view and the evening session of music around the bonfire.
One star less for the unclean upholstery and not so good bathrooms

The resort is wide spread and beautifully maintained. Rooms are good and clean with fresh linen. Food is also good. Great place to stay for 1-2 days with natural beauty all around you. They arrange cultural programs in the evenings and you can enjoy it by the bonfire during the winters.

I often wonder about the challenges staff suffers in sprawling resorts. Hideway is a beautiful resort next to the Kosi river and is beautifully laid out in lush green settings sprinkled with cottages. Early morning group checkins are painful and was a nightmare for we didnt get our rooms till mid noon. Be prepared for mosquitoes which are in plenty at the resort, also the staff takes enough time to get to your rooms for your needs to ensure that you look for an alternative. The food is well spread out and one can sit in verandah being wary of the monkeys though and enjoy their meals by the river view. At the same time, the food is ok and nothing special to write home about. The parking lot is decent and can accommodate multiple volvos too. Try getting the Bijrani safari over Jhirna, its a beautiful jungle you won't see a lot of animals but the tranquility of the place would mesmerize you. Don't expect much from the guides they look tired and have depressing tales to tell about the park. The park which could have been the best has fallen miles behind of its compatriots in Rajasthan and MP due to the sheer negligence of Forest staff and interest by decision makers. Tiger spotting is one in a millionth, don't go with that in mind, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: If you are old, try to get a room on the ground floor. They also have duplex kinda rooms wherein 4 p...

Like some other recent reviews here, my stay at the corbett hideaway was also on account of an offsite organized by my employer. This was first visit to the Jim Corbett national park, so everything from the jungles to the river was new to me. The resort was very very spacious (perhaps the largest among many other properties on that stretch) and the individual cottages are spaced far apart (and surrounded by landscaped vegetation) for it being ideal for couples, groups of friends and families to relax and unwind in peace. The food options were varied and wonderful, as were the other amenities (pool, some indoor games, lush football ground next the flowing river etc). The rooms are definitely aged, but maintained well. The place can get pretty desolate late in the nights, but the campus remains well lighted and you can always find some staff for any help (or late night bites!). The best part of my stay was the wonderful evening performance by a group of local villagers. I felt honored to be able to watch and participate in their folk music and dance. I intend to visit Jim Corbett again and would definitely stay here. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Corbett Hideaway for 2 nights during our company's offsite and I was pleasantly surprised at the overall property and the way it has been maintained. The whole set up is very good and gives you a feeling of staying very close to nature. The rooms although not very new are well maintained and spacious.

The property's boundary on one side is the river kosi and the breakfast hall has fantastic view of the same.. It was a perfect way to start your morning. The resort organizes nature walks and safaris. While the nature walk along the river was good, the safari was disappointing (Since the Corbett core zone was closed).

There is a small pool, lounge plus dance floor and a conference room that can seat atleast 50 which was converted to a dance floor for us. The place is ideal for team outings and especially for activities like a treasure hunt!

The journey from Delhi to the resort was taxing (we took almost 6-7 hours excluding traffic time in Delhi) and that was the only major sore point of the trip. I would be willing to come back with a set of friends to this place.

The best hotels are less publicized, but if you happen to stay in them..They will make you say " Why did I never stayed here before"

Staff : Excellent, extremely helpful and intuitive. They will understand your needs and react to it instantly, never to dissatisfy you and always with a smile. ALWAYS..

Service : Excellent again..Room service tends to take a while in the jungle..but it is never a problem.

Rooms : Superb..I will say not top notch, no latest gadgets, etc. but has everything you need..Laundry is good..Rooms are huge and very bright with Natural light and windows. The separate TV room and bedroom is a blessing.

Bathrooms : Clean and moderately spacious. Hot water is not an issue..Towels are clean and do not smell of Dampness, despite of property being by the river..

my take " NO DAMP SMELL...excellent housekeeping"

Food : Food is great..Indian cuisine is top notch. Non Veg foods is one of the best I have tasted in a hotel buffet. I will not say Continental is great, but ACCEPTABLE..The Grill restaurant is nicely located in the center of the property..again not Great but acceptable food...the best in Corbett..

Bar : Bar is nice, adequately stocked, you can get your single malts and brandy..Feels great to

The moment you step in Corbett Hideaway..you enter a different world. Your Lungs will breathe a different air and by the time you leave you will feel younger and energized.

Do not miss this Jewel of a property..I am returning here for sure very soon...

Room Tip: All rooms are Beautiful but. 1. The best ones face the river..Better still on the first floor wi...

It was a fine refreshing morning in the lap of nature with clouds floating over the mountains in front of our cottage. The Kosi River flowing at the foothills made the most melodious song of nature. That’s one of the normal days at Corbett hideaway, near Ramnagar. We stayed in the resort in last week of August 2013.
This was our first visit to Jim Corbett national park and we luckily got to stay in one of the finest resorts, that too in a river front- cottage which proved to be the icing-on-cake. It is a wonderfully managed resort with extremely courteous staff and one of the finest chefs. One fine morning my husband literally got into the kitchen to learn the famous’poha’-a north Indian breakfast from the chef. We enjoyed the most delicious meals during our stay. The Corbett national park was closed but we never missed it due to the luxurious stay in the lush green resort. We certainly had an elephant ride one day and a visit to nearby gharjia temple, situated in the middle of Kosi River.
I went to a small bridge nearby on my morning walks which offered breathtaking views of jungles and the river. Later I came to know that tigers had been spotted at the same place many times. My four year old son had an excellent time in the pool on ‘dry days’. Rest of the days we enjoyed rains from our living room. Best place to relax in the lap of nature and ‘be yourself’.

Room Tip: room number 36-37, river facing cottages are really beautiful
