It was pie night when we visited, and they were delicious! Very good service from our lovely waitress and great value (especially given the extremely generous portions!). Would thoroughly recommend...!

Thank you for your lovely review, sorry it took a while for me to get back to you. We love Pie Night too. We try and make 4 different types of Pie each week so there is something for everyone. Nothing better than homemade pie really, except perhaps if someone cooks it for you and washes up! Hope to see you again soon.

This was our second visit to The Star Inn and it did not disappoint. All the staff and locals were friendly. The food was excellent quality as always. Our 2 daughters devoured their meals and even finished off ours! Excellent value for money, and real home cooked food! Not the microwave stuff that you get in a lot of places these days! Will definitely be returning.

Thank you for a lovely review and more importantly for coming back. My children love the food too, especially Sunday lunch. We wouldn't serve anything to your children that I wouldn't feed to my own as I know how important it is to be sure about what they eat. Thank you so much for taking the time to review us and we hope to see you again soon.

We took a party of 30 for breakfast before going to Cheltenham races.
The staff were very friendly and incredibly organised for such a large group of us. We were shown to our table and drinks were offered right away. Shortly after the drinks arrived the staff were very helpful in asking if anyone was a vegetarian or couldn't have any ingredients before the 30 full english breakfasts followed. Seeming as we were not the only large party having the same idea everyone of us had our meals within 5 minutes of the first plate being placed on the table. The portions were extremely generous and the quality of the food was excellent. I would highly recomend and look forward to going back for an evening meal very soon.

We had dinner here on Saturday night & were very pleasantly suprised by the quality of the food. We ate early, & as I couldn't gauge the size of the portions I opted for a starter & a main, which was slightly too much food for me (very generous helpings). The quality was very good. The starter was really tasty (prawn & crayfish cocktail) with absolutely delicious bread & butter (maybe homemade?). For main, I had the fish pie which was piping hot and again very tasty. Everyone else was pleased by their meals (best lasagne ever tasted apparently). The pub was pretty (bet it's lovely in summer - large garden area), the service efficient and friendly & the price was reasonable. Would definately go again if I'm in the area.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. The bread is not home made but it was baked freshly for us by a local baker. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you can come back when you are next in the area. Thanks Vicky

This popular pub is fairly busy on weekends- but midweek like most pubs struggles - we went Wednesday and I have to say the the service and menu were excellent. It was Also pie night. Not only your usual chicken and leek and beef and ale - but a few choices of game pies. Good quality and quantity and some good guest beers
