“Very nice pub near waterfalls and just off Heads of Valley road”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

This is a very nice pub near waterfalls and just off Heads of Valley road between Swansea and Hirwaun. Have not been for many years and I think is in new ownership. Friendly staff served us hot freshly baked cheese baguettes which is just what we wanted. Real ales but did not try as we were driving. Other customers had what looked like really nice meals. Will go back again as this is ideal for the waterfalls etc

“Lovely”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

I popped in on a Friday Night without booking and we had a table straight away. I ordered lasagne it was the best I've tasted in a long time, fresh and boiling hot the chips were perfectly home made and there were lots of them. I would definitely recommend.

“Avoid, worst dinning experience ever !”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2013

Booked a table for 9 for a special occasion, 2 weeks before event. On arrival pub smelt damp & musty soft furnishings look drab & dirty, so first impressions were awful, but pub soon filled to full very quickly & atmosphere light. Table booked for 6pm and order's not taken until an hour later. Whilst ordering were informed that there was no duck, homemade pies ( that hadn't come in..... work that out ) stilton or potatoes !!!!! The menu wasn't very extensive to begin so this meant it was now very limited. Then when our food came (8pm),we were presented with our main meals and told that they couldn't hold the mains back as they were cooked, and now 2 starters that were ordered were now sold out. Spoke to manager & told new waitress had incorrectly written order & apologised. Informed starters were available & would be served as quickly as possible. However when the starters arrived the order was still incomplete & last starter arrived just as everyone else had finished so was sent back. At this point due to dire service, & experience we left. My advise to anyone who enjoys a good pub meal would be find somewhere else & avoid avoid avoid !

“Great food and a great price.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Visited the pub just before doing a gorge walk. The food was excellent and fantastic value. My daughters insisted that we went back before we left.

The lunchtime specials were great, with soup and deserts at 99p with a main meal. It wasn't just cheap, it was quality.
