This accommodation is not actually a hotel, but is more like living in a green, serene campus (except if you happen to be there a week before/during the start of a semester, when it is loud partying/movie time for the students). The rest of the time its like being in a resort...sloped landscape with tall trees and lots of vegetation around. What is best about staying here is the proximity to Macquarie University. Ideally suited location-wise for parents who wish to meet up and spend a few days with their children studying in the university or those who are looking for a simple, basic, clean accommodation far away from the city hub. A unit is shared by 5-6 guests. A unit consists of 5 bedrooms (with en-suite bathroom) and common living/dining/kitchen areas. There is no air-conditioning/heating facility, but the pedestal fan in the bedroom is somewhat useful in summer. The room cleaning is done thrice a week and the maintenance staff is efficient. The bathrooms have 24 hours running water including hot water. The linen (including towels) provided is clean, basic toiletries sachets are available and the beds are fairly comfortable. All bedrooms have large cupboards with mirrors (no hangers supplied though). Kitchen facilities include a cooking gas stove with 4 burners with a conventional electric oven below, toaster, electric kettle, a refrigerator, microwave oven, some crockery and cutlery. Cooking utensils are also available in some rooms. However no tea, coffee, sugar sachets are provided. This can be sourced from a small store close by...(at Trafalgar, which is a 5 minute walk away from the accommodation). There is a dining table with 6 chairs and a lounge area with a TV on which local channels are available. Coin-operated washing machines and dryers can be used in the laundry in the 'village'. A folding ironing board and an iron can be found in the closet below the staircase in the unit. Internet service is available in the room at an extra cost and the connectivity is reasonably good most of the time. Although one could walk to the nearest station and the Macquarie Shopping Centre ( it would take about 12 minutes at least), there is a bus stop (for M41) near the accommodation (Waterloo Road bus stop) which goes to the Macquarie Uni Station and the Shopping Centre (the bus frequency is every 15 minutes on week days...but there is no bus between 8pm and early morning. There are fewer buses on week-ends). The bus stop (M41) to return to the accommodation is opposite TGI (Macquarie Shopping Centre). The station is well connected to the city (train takes 35 mins to the city) and the Shopping Centre has several fast food outlets and restaurants. All in all, this is a comfortable campus style living: no luxuries.
