I can not begin to tell you how impressed we are with the timeshare tour we attended! We had such a great time with our sales person. Michele was extremely polite and considerate. She made us feel like we were VIP guests at the best resort in the world. We were amazed by how much she seemed to genuinely love where she works. When we arrived at the checkin we were certain that this was not even going to be worth considering. Yet after a few hours with her, we SERIOUSLY considered it and know that even though we can t buy a timeshare right now we would love to do so in the near future at Massanutten and we wonder if there is anyway we can ask to get Michele again. We had more fun with her than since we had been there.
The hotels were definitely not luxurious and was a big part of us thinking no way. Not here. Michele made us understand why they are blah. It was a didn't your mother teach you not to complain about a gift thing. Point taken!!! She's good! You feel embarrassed that you even mentioned it.so dont!
The place is huge and she apologized when we got in her car (smelled great) because we were told a 90 minute presentation and she knew it would take longer to show everything to us. We were excited to see if there really was all this great stuff to do here. We had almost challenged her to prove it and she did. She showed us pools and sanas exercise zip lines golf horse rides ski lanes go carts boats and the list could go on. We stayed in a resort in Virginia beach and that seems empty. I think that was her intention truthfully. Smart! Make us play a game.
We didn't care about the time that had passed because we were having a great time.
When she showed us pictures of her family doing things there and told us stories we found her to be such a great person. I couldn't believe this woman is capable of having a sour bone in her body. She had us under a spell and we didn't care.
My mother was with me who is uncomfortable with the pressure of being in high places. She took my mother to a condo and introduced her to Ms. Betty. She had cookies (the best) and refreshments. It was air conditioned and Michele wanted my mom to be comfortable while we went up to the top of the mountain.
We stopped at a store and we knew that we wanted to buy a timeshare. We hoped it could be affordable but honestly we didn't have much hope. We knew this would be something expensive. It is beautiful we could save a lot of money in the future there was endless activities and it seems like the very best place to buy one. She went on and on about there satisfaction rating being unbeatable and comparable to none. The entire way back to building she assured us that her manager would do whatever he could to help with the financing. She refused to let the cat out of the bag about the price. Why wont they tell you? What is the big secret? Maybe it was her suspenseful tactic.
Her manager was such a nice man. He was very well mannered very proper. he has perfect posture. these people are classy and you feel classy just sitting with them. He even told us that we didn't have to buy right then and told us why we would want to. The offer he made us was very tempting. It took every bit of discipline for us not to sign but at this time we cant add any extra bills. We had to apologize for not doing it. We feel sad that we couldn't and we want to buy it as soon as we can. If you are not prepared to buy timeshare i would recommend that you avoid a timeshare presentation. We got a $200 gift card and some other free stuff but its not worth what we feel we really missed out on. We will see you again and we hope we can buy it!
I wish i could be angry at her for making us even want timeshare, but i cant!

Our family of four just got back from a great week-long vacation at Maassanutten. We rented a condo and loved it -- clean, spacious, wifi, jacuzzi, great location! And there are so many activities at the resort to do, there is bound to be something for everyone. We hit the waterpark twice, rode the go-carts, played mini-golf, took the chairlift to the top of the mountain, made tie-dye tee shirts, watched the deer and the groundhogs all over the place (including right outside our windows), and zip-lined down the mountain. Everything is very convenient and very easy to get to.

The only negative experience we had was the time share talk. We signed up for it because we wanted the two free activity cards (which by the way, really didn't end up saving us that much because a lot of the things we wanted to do were not included in the activity card). The tourguide was very nice and he gave us an enjoyable tour, but we were clear from the start that we had no intention to buy. He seemed to understand. But later, when we were passed on to the final salesman who signed off on our activity card, that's when the pressure was turned on. As a last-ditch attempt to sway us to buy a timeshare, the salesman actually told us: "Do you know that representative could lose his job because you're not buying?" We looked at him as if he were crazy. Maybe he was. What HAD been a pleasant tour was just turned into an ugly experience.

Our advice, enjoy the resort -- It is MAGNFICENT. It was our second time there and very possibly we'll go back again. But if you're enticed to take the timeshare tour like we were, prepare for it to not end well. Unless of course you want to buy!

Room Tip: If you're staying more than a night or two, you get more for your money by renting a condo instead of booking a hotel in the resort.

We finally were able to stay in Regal Vista. The unit is 2 bedrooms sleeps 6, we had 5 for most of the week so it worked out wonderfully. We had unit 2185 across from the pool, which was awesome with a great view. We only had a simple problem with the garage door opener which was fixed very quickly and did not have any other issues. I will stay there again as I am an owner in the Winter months. The sales person we met with knew we were not buying anything as we already own their top of the line stuff, so he sat and chatted with us for the required 1.5 hours, then we were on our way.

Room Tip: If you own at Massanutten take advantage of the earlier check in time.

We went to Massanutten last month with my brother and his family. We had a great week together. From two golf courses, to two fishing areas, to the miniature golf course, to the wonderful waterpark, there is more to do at the resort than one week can handle. A must in the summer is to take the chairlift ride up the top of the mountain and then get off and make your way to the top (past the cell towers). The view are breathtaking but be careful with young kids. Only issue we had was figuring out the pricing. There is an activity card and you really need to sit down beforehand and figure out if your week will be active or docile. Active? Buy the car. Relaxing and Docile? Save the money and pay individually for the few activities. Enjoy!!

It was my first time here and I found the resort very confusing. Upon entering the security gate you are on your own. A map of the park would have been a tremendous help at that point. We rented a home and found that the owners created a book with an activities section but it still did not orientate us to the resort. We found activities via internet. We were asked what room we were in and if we had an activities card when making reservations to tube the river. No clue. Maybe there is a hotel???? We found the indoor/outdoor waterpark which was nice. We bypassed the gate just to explore and found the ski slopes and putt putt but honestly the signage is horrible. If you have never visited or are not a frequent flyer then do your research first. I assumed "resort" would provide you with valuable and helpful information along the way at some point. The resort is beautiful. Many older homes throughout. Well maintained for the most part. It is heavily wooded and I am sure quite beautiful in the winter. Get groceries and other necessities before arriving...there is not much around for 5-10 miles in either direction and that is once you get off the resort. Might go back...might.
