We stayed for three nights with our two boys and had a wonderful time. There are plenty of facilities for the kids, but it was hard to drag them away from the heated pool. The park is close and convenient to the city and it's attractions, but with the trees and gardens, it felt quiet and peaceful. Next time we're back in Adelaide, this will be our pick for sure!

PARK GROUNDS:- there's only space for about 14 vans in middle grass strip bordered by cabins & units. While it was only 1/2 full for most of our week long stay during term time, the weekend was almost full & it felt quite crowded. Grounds are lovely though, and lots of trees, birdlife and ducks almost block out the traffic noise and create a nice ambience.
FACILITIES:- The two pools are great. One heated and undercover - semi indoor and the adjacent pool is a cold 30m lap pool, lovely to lounge by with a good book. Nearby tennis courts, playground & jumping pillow are great too.
Keep in mind there's only one toilet block for campers.. Fairly nice & clean  with good water pressure, but only 5 showers, so get in quick during busy times. A kids bath is handy for washing young kids.. Or grubby feet.
TRAFFIC & AIR NOISE:- yes, you'll hear it, but we got used to it after the 3rd morning. From the sound of other reviews, other holiday parks close to Adelaide are the same, but nowhere nice as Marion, so make use of pools & nice surrounds & stay here.
TRAFFIC & DRIVING:- if you've been staying in small towns or bush locations, remember this is suburban Adelaide. There are no major freeways so all the roads are packed most hours of the day.. Lots of shops & services everywhere, but slow getting anywhere.
LOCAL KIDS ACTIVITIES RECOMMENDATIONS:- that are cheap & fun.. SA Museum, Carrick Hill Estate (free - do the kids storybook hunt); Drive-in movies ($22 per car); Beach House at Glenelg is ok if you set an early price limit or just go in for mini golf, as we did. An icecream  (Royal Copenhagen nearby is THE best!!) & walk along the beach & pier can top off the outing nicely.

We stayed in a Lagoon Unit for 6 nights and have been really happy! Our unit faced onto the lagoon pool with a private entry. It had a deck with a table and chairs and a bbq. The interior had a full kitchen with dishwasher and a lounge, dining area. There were 2 bedrooms, one with a set of bunks and a queen bed separated by a low shelving unit and a master with a queen and an ensuite complete with a spa bath and small private patio. It was clean, modern and well designed. Our only criticism was the lack of shade over the kids play area and jumping pillow. The park is incredibly well maintained and we saw the gardener out weeding and cleaning the grounds daily. Would absolutely recommend this park to anyone, the owners should be really proud of what they provide here!

We have just stayed at the Marion Holiday Park with our two children for 5 nights. We stayed in a holiday unit. The holiday units are decorated with modern furniture and kitchen facilities. The living space was quite small but what we expected and was all we required (they only have a 2 seater couch in a 5 berth unit but space is an issue for anything more). They are not freestanding so we could hear the neighbours at times. Our only complaint with our unit was the airconditioning. It was very hot so we appreciated having it! Unfortunately it was very noisy and although tolerable at most times during the day we had to turn it off at night in the January heat.

The property in general is excellently maintained, we often saw someone gardening or tidying up and the grounds are a credit to them. We utilised the pool every day and my first thought was that there weren't many deck chairs around the pool, however we always were able to grab a couple.

My son loves jumping pillows and usually we struggle to get him off them. With the heat we experienced the jumping pillow was unusable for most of the day. There was only a window in the late afternoon before it was let down at night that he could use it. If it was covered with shadecloth it would be much more functional.

Overall an excellent stay and we will be back - but will be saving for a lagoon unit!!
