“Best on the Mountain”

Mount Washington Alpine Resort

Unit 104 is the best unit in the best lodge on the mountain, true ski in ski out convenience and spotlessly clean.

Great skiing at MW and stay at Deer Lodge was great! Very clean and comfortable, well equipped room. Definitely worth checking out!

Booked with deer lodge. Payed 1257.00 for three nights. Wanted my money back and they were horrible. They said that technically, since the tube park was running this is not a case of no snow. They said that if some one else rents the condo, I would get a refund. Then they refused to post it on their website. They refused to accommodate any reasonable options. I finally received my money back and they kept 470.00 for doing nothing. They never answer the phone and usually call back at 7:30 in the evening! I will never book there again, just so I never have to deal with their "rental agency". Dealing directly with an owner is way better. Or dealing with hotel staff is better. Dealing with a representative of a money hungry corporation is not conducive to any decent customer service or loyalty.

I have to ask if the people that rave about Mt Washington have ever been to quality ski resorts. The lack of night life, family fun, professional staff compared to real quality resorts cannot even be compared to as being close to the same. In my years of skiing there….since the hills opening, I have always hoped it would come close to the family atmosphere that Forbidden Plateau had. The only thing it had was Herb Bradley, that carried over from Forbidden….what a true professional and caring man. The day ticket prices do not warrant the facility and the build your own pass is a joke….let the customer pick the features they want instead of being made to get a gold pass which includes snowshoeing and nordic skiing which are of little interest to the skier/snowboarder and of course 2 free demos which the ski manufactures offer free many times throughout the season to promote their equipment. Lets be totally honest….if there was any option to another ski resort this would not be where people would be going. Mt Cain is smaller and has the feeling of the old Forbidden or Green Mtn….too bad it is not open more days and so far out of the way. A truly good resort would appreciate the customers and realize they are what they are operating a business for….making a sport available to all, making it fun and making it affordable. Especially when there is so many people that would like to enjoy it but with the high cost it does not fit the budget. I congratulate the facilities that recognize when times are tougher and want to see more people not raising the prices just because too many managers want to make bigger earnings. Not all is bad about Mt Washington….the snow is usually abundant and if the management could control that too they would. Have fun on the hill and get a good look at the web cam and when you are being told it is snowing don't always believe it until you get a look for yourself since they tend to embellish the snow report.
The summer hiking is amazing…..the highlight of this area.

We had such a good time on top of the mountain. The drive up was beautiful. We took the chair lift right to the top that was great. At the top we walked the trails saw all the beautiful scenery from the different sides of the mountain. We saw the birds eating right out of the hands of the children. We came back down and watched the people on the bungee jump and had a look in the little store. We went to Fat Teddy's Bar and Grill to have lunch an decided to share a mushroom swiss cheese burger and soup, they both were fantastic. I would say a visit in the summer is worth the drive
It is free to look around but there is a fee for the chair lift.
