We have just returned from a wonderful week all inclusive holiday at this hotel. We travelled with another couple who had an equally good week. The setting was just what we wanted, although some might find it a little remote. We had rooms on the top floor which were spacious, clean and comfortable. We received a complimentary bottle of wine with fresh bottles of water provided almost every day. Upon arrival we were advised our room wasn't ready which we found a little disappointing but after having lunch the room was available and we received a complimentary plate of fresh fruit. The beach was very clean with plenty of sun beds available. We found each and every member of staff to be courteous and very friendly. Having read reviews already posted the subject of food appears to be very contentious. We have nothing but praise for the food and the selections available were wide and varied. A reviewer has complained about the pork dishes but on the nights pork was served we could of also had beef, chicken and seafood as well as a local dish. This was in addition to the cold meat, cheeses and salad which were always available. Inexplicably, someone complained about there being a lack of English food available - maybe they would find Blackpool better next time! As for us we will be going back again, the sooner the better!

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the hills and found it very quiet and cool even though the day temperature...

Just returned from our second visit to this hotel. The standard is first class and all the staff work very hard to ensure an enjoyable stay. The food is excellent with plenty of choice and there is always plenty of room in the restaurant. The location on the beach makes it ideal.

This is a great place to chillax, lots of sun, sea, good grub, and fair range of beverages, alcoholic or otherwise. The location is in a pretty bay but relatively isolated. Organised trips are available if you wish to see the sights. We contented ourselves with a free courtesy coach trip (book places for this) to Old Corfu town, where there are a plethora of little shops to browse and cafes in which to indulge your caffeine cravings. The Venetian fort there is also well worth a look. We had a nice sea view, otherwise you can take a cheaper room overlooking the mountain behind the hotel. Ground floor sea view rooms have a dedicated strip of pool. There is a nice sandy beach within close proximity, and a range of sea based activities available, such as pedalos etc. There is a beach bar and a pool close by. Lunch is also available in this area, which doubles up as an entertainment area every evening, with diverse shows such as singing, circus acts, karaoke etc. The hotel is very clean, and the restaurant area offers inside and outside seating. There is an Asian restaurant open three days per week, and places need to be pre booked. The hotel has a little shop (expensive) and there are two more shops nearby. The lifts have seen better days, often proclaiming that they are 'overloaded'. The toilets are as you would expect (paper in a bin and not down the toilet please). The rooms are a decent size and decorated in a neutral fashion. The mattresses are fairly firm and the pillows are average foam jobbies. This 4 star hotel is a bit let down by some issues, for example, the drains in the toilets near the pool positively honk most days, the two billiard tables are not level causing some angst for competitive players and cannot be used after 10pm due to annoying the people below. The air con in the rooms never allowed me to get really cool. The reception staff were very helpful and the animation team (entertainment staff) did their very best to see people had a good time. Lilli in particular stands out in this department. All in all we had a good time. Tip: it really helps if you make an effort to use a smattering of the Greek language, even if you only use the words for please and thank you.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room on a higher floor for a good view, or choose a ground floor sea view room for...

LOCATION
Sat on Glyfada beach with sweeping views left to right of cliffs, beaches and the lapping waves, it's stunning. We had a top floor, family, sea view room - wow. No problem whatsoever with the sun in the room, at that time of year it never shone in directly and just grazed the balcony, there is comfort cooling available in all rooms however.
Glyfada is remote and quiet. 3 beach bars were open during the day, 2 or 3 tavernas and 3 or 4 other mini markets (cheaper than the hotel shop), other than that there isn't much.
It's a steep & winding 2km walk to Pelekas with it's range of tavernas and Kaisers Throne (amazing views) or €15 taxi (we took the taxi!)

ROOM
Our room was a family size (was only 2 of us), sea view, smack bang in the middle on the top floor. It's been refurbished to a decent quality, however our bathroom still appeared to be of the older style. The shower wasn't particularly great. By comparison our courtesy room to use on check out day had an updated bathroom an much better shower. It was also located next to the lift shaft which made quite a bit of noise, not ideal if you go to bed early or like a lay in.
Bed was comfortable. Bath towels were quite thin/worn.
Safe is ridiculous at a charge of €3.50 a day, personally I think that takes the piss. All we did was lock belongings in our suitcases rather than pay €49.

FOOD & DRINKS
Probably the one area we felt this hotel really lacked which really shocked us after reading the reviews. We only have two previous experiences of all inclusive and the food at our previous stay (a Riu hotel in Marrakech) was miles better than this. It was generally bland and not that diverse. Pork seems hugely popular with some nights 2 or 3 different types of pork on offer. Whilst we certainly never went hungry some nights we were really struggling to choose what to eat as not much tickled our fancy, which never happened in our previous experience!

With it being in Greece I expected much more in the way of greek dishes but there wasn't a great deal of wide variety of it, although plenty of greek salads and feta!

The Oriental (Japanese) restaurant 'Mura' is a mystery. I don't get it. We went once and found it to be very poor compared to any local Japanese. I think they'd be better off turning this in to a dedicated greek restaurant to really showcase their national dishes, after all, we've chosen to holiday there, not Japan.

Food/snacks available inbetween main meals, so you can never go hungry!

Drinks are standard locally sourced, all palatable, the white, rose & lager could do with being served slightly cooler to take the edge off. Staff are great at mixing cocktails etc.

POOL AREAS / BEACH
Always got a sunbed, no matter what time of day. I guess this is helped by the huge number who use the beach rather than the poolside, so it's never rammed.
There is no music played around the pool apart from during aqua gym, so the day is incredibly relaxing with the noisiest things being the local crickets!!
Area is immaculate, staff come round offering watermelon mid morning and cocktails mid afternoon, pool bar is open from 10am.

Beach is very tidy, sea is generally very calm, sand is very hot!!! Watersports nearby, can't fault it

ENTERTAINMENT
The 'Animation' staff work their socks off and run games/entertainment throughout the day - stretching, french bowls, waterpolo, volleyball, archery, darts, aqua gym, with acts etc on in the evening. The african acrobats are very good, Il Divo aren't that great but still funny to watch and the Friday music quiz ends up being a good laugh!
The hotel bar is a bit quiet, a piano is there but not used (would be nice to have someone playing that now & again), but it's a nice place to relax & chat.

STAFF
Welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive, can't ask for much more.

GENERAL
Hotel is more of an older crowd, probably average age of 50-60, so the chilled out vibe may reflect that. A smattering of younger couples and families, but generally it's a good mix that allows a very relaxing, chilled out holiday which is exactly what we wanted.

Arrived at the Louis grand in the early hours of the morning to be greeted by a cheerful receptionist who made checking in a breeze and even got us a snack, the room had limited sea view but the only annoying thing was the emptying of the bottles at 1 am. The food in the restaurant you couldn't fault and sparkling wine available at breakfast, I would recommend the hash browns, 10 out of 10 for the Asian restaurant, my 1st time trying sushi, plenty of sun loungers you didn't need to reserve them and if one wasn't available the maintenance guy ensured you got one also nice being directly on the beach. The only gripe I do have is the evening entertainment, ill divo tribute was brilliant but if staying for more than 7 days it is the same entertainment every week surely a 2 week rotation would be better. Thomson holiday reps Toni and Gemma was excellent nothing was too much trouble for them and always greeted you. Special mention must go to Costas in the Castillo bar if management read this don't tie him up behind the bar the real Costas is the guy in his element serving you at the table a true gent.

Room Tip: Get a sea view room definitely worth it

We've just arrived back from the most wonderful week in Glyfada. It was such a beautiful setting and the weather was so hot. I can honestly not fault any part of it, we spent time on the beach each morning and went paragliding and hired a pedalo and in the afternoons (after enjoying some more lovely lunch) relaxed by the pool. We took advantage of the free bus to Corfu town which Is beautiful.
The whole hotel was so clean and the staff couldn't have been more friendly.
If you are considering a holiday here then definately do it, you won't be disappointed.
