My boyfriend and I stayed at the LTI Louis Gand in october. Booking the holiday was a very last minute thing and after reading previous reviews before we went we wasn't to sure what to expect. It pleasantly exceeded my expectation! The weather was great considering it was the end of the season, which would usually deter people from booking that time of year.
The journey from the airport to the hotel was a reasonable time however it did get a little scary at times as the roads are very narrow and you have to travel down a windy road down the mountain in order to reach the hotel entrance. The check in was extremely fast and we received our room key within 5 minutes of arriving.
Our room had an amazing sea view and we were the lucky ones on our floor to get the extended balcony which was really nice when the sun was setting. The room had all the facilities needed for the stay including tea/coffee and hair dryer. Our first night we were surprised by the noise in the corridors as we were situated next to the lift you could hear it going up and down the floors most of the night however we soon got used to it.
The food served at the buffet restaurant was always delicious and varied everyday so you could never get bored of the options. The first day we decided to eat lunch at the beach bar, however the wasps were very irritating and made it difficult to sit there and eat. Once we found out the main buffet was open for lunch we decided to go there instead, even though the beach bar was more convenient. Breakfast options included items for a full English as well as pastries, yogurts, pancakes, waffles and omelettes. Lunch options included fresh salad, pasta, chicken, fish, chips, pizza and ice cream. Dinner in the buffet had theme nights and they always had something for everyone included the fussy eaters. The Asian a la carte was really enjoyable and would definitely recommend making a booking near the beginning of your stay as it is very popular.
The evening entertainment was exactly what we were expecting ...cheesey! However all the staff made great effort to get people participating. The best night was the music quiz, which seemed popular with all the guests. There were good options at the bar for drinks including the glyfada special which although was bright green.. Was really nice and easy to drink!
Our last night at the hotel was the last night the hotel was open for the season when arriving at the buffet restaurant we was greeted by the management and a glass of bubbly to have with dinner.
During our stay we did not do any of the excursions however if we went back ( which is a definite) we would do the trip to Corfu town as other guests we spoke to said it was really good. We did have a go on the giant blow up chair which is connected to a speed boat and throws you around across the sea... Such fun!!!
All in all a really nice friendly hotel, a great holiday and great memories
