My boyfriend and I stayed at the LTI Louis Gand in october. Booking the holiday was a very last minute thing and after reading previous reviews before we went we wasn't to sure what to expect. It pleasantly exceeded my expectation! The weather was great considering it was the end of the season, which would usually deter people from booking that time of year.

The journey from the airport to the hotel was a reasonable time however it did get a little scary at times as the roads are very narrow and you have to travel down a windy road down the mountain in order to reach the hotel entrance. The check in was extremely fast and we received our room key within 5 minutes of arriving.
Our room had an amazing sea view and we were the lucky ones on our floor to get the extended balcony which was really nice when the sun was setting. The room had all the facilities needed for the stay including tea/coffee and hair dryer. Our first night we were surprised by the noise in the corridors as we were situated next to the lift you could hear it going up and down the floors most of the night however we soon got used to it.
The food served at the buffet restaurant was always delicious and varied everyday so you could never get bored of the options. The first day we decided to eat lunch at the beach bar, however the wasps were very irritating and made it difficult to sit there and eat. Once we found out the main buffet was open for lunch we decided to go there instead, even though the beach bar was more convenient. Breakfast options included items for a full English as well as pastries, yogurts, pancakes, waffles and omelettes. Lunch options included fresh salad, pasta, chicken, fish, chips, pizza and ice cream. Dinner in the buffet had theme nights and they always had something for everyone included the fussy eaters. The Asian a la carte was really enjoyable and would definitely recommend making a booking near the beginning of your stay as it is very popular.

The evening entertainment was exactly what we were expecting ...cheesey! However all the staff made great effort to get people participating. The best night was the music quiz, which seemed popular with all the guests. There were good options at the bar for drinks including the glyfada special which although was bright green.. Was really nice and easy to drink!

Our last night at the hotel was the last night the hotel was open for the season when arriving at the buffet restaurant we was greeted by the management and a glass of bubbly to have with dinner.

During our stay we did not do any of the excursions however if we went back ( which is a definite) we would do the trip to Corfu town as other guests we spoke to said it was really good. We did have a go on the giant blow up chair which is connected to a speed boat and throws you around across the sea... Such fun!!!
All in all a really nice friendly hotel, a great holiday and great memories

Room Tip: Request sea view...well worth it!

My partner and I first came on holiday to the Louis Grand during the last week of September 2011. The hotel has everything we wish for. It is quiet, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is an excellent choice of food and the beach is very clean, it slopes gently into the sea which makes swimming very safe.
There are frequent daily bus shuttles into Corfu town, which should be taken up, as well as very well organised island tours that give a very good insight into the history of the island.
We enjoyed the holiday so much that we went back during the last week of September last year. Upon returning to the UK we went straight into our locat travel agent and booked the same period in September for this year.
We have never, during all our time holidaying abroad, visited the same hotel on three occasions. For us there is no better place to go, budget permitting.

Room Tip: If you want a very relaxing holiday, then this is the place for you, Also upgrade to a high floor wi...

To put it quite simply..... Amazing!!!

Everyone did their best to make sure everything was perfect! The staff and room were lovely! I cant give enough positive feedback to all the staff, they truly made the holiday/wedding a memory of a life time! Mostly to the Front desk manager Elaine, she really did help us to sort out any problems and queries.

The beach was something from another part of the world, and the entertainment was great! Although I would love to, I cant spend all day typing this review but if i had, it would be the best i have ever given. Don't hesitate to come here, and if i can give any info or feedback for anyone who is considering to do so, just PM me!

Quite possibly, be coupled with my wedding of course, the best time of my life!

Room Tip: Get the sea view, its worth it!!

LTI Louis Grand Glyfada – August 2012
Firstly: the interior of this hotel is beautiful it is an old building so lots of wrought iron, lots of beautiful polished floors and LOTS AND LOTS of steps so (this was not clear on the Thomson website) NOT suitable if you have a disability or were intending to push your small child in their buggy - most people carried their babies but I did observe some trying to lift pushchairs up and down these steps. I dont think you can get to all areas by using one lift so if ease of accessability is a necessity I am sorry to say this is NOT the hotel for you.
Our beds were made, coffee/tea sachets supplied and room tidied every day – the staff were lovely and always said hello.
The family swim up suite consisted of bathroom, double bedroom, obscurred glass sliding doors leading into the room with two single beds for the children . These were in the area of the hotel facing out toward the communal hotel pool, beach and sea, shaded in the morning with the sun coming round for the afternoon which was perfect as we went after breakfast to the free sunbeds on the beach (where the sea is clean and calm) and came back (with cocktails) to spend the afternoon by "our" pool. We had our own partitioned decked poolside area outside the room with our own sun beds and table - we were lucky to have a lovely young family next door and the children played in the pool with the other children in these rooms. The patio doors to the pool area also had a half height lockable glass safety gate so you could air the room whilst ensuring small children could not get out.
We had to request a bottle of water from reception on the first day, a suggestion for the management: it would have been LOVELY if it were in our room upon ARRIVAL. Supply seemed to be a bit hit and miss throughout the week – a couple of days we did not get it but you can always help yourself to water from a tap at the beach bar and I understand upon request they will refill your bottle if you run out.
The first time we took the children to get ice creams my husband went to the beach bar and was charged 2.50 euros each we did later find the “free” ice cream in the outdoor snack area, a little misleading of the beach bar staff not to inform us of that as we were all inclusive!
The food was excellent with food available in different parts of the hotel pretty much solidly throughout the day. The lamb was wonderful, I had some wonderful pasta dishes and I am now a baklava addict! My son loved having pancakes for breakfast, waffles and ice cream in the afternoon and pizza in the evening (thanks to the kids corner in the evening feeding the boys was not the struggle it generally is on holiday) There was a slight problem with the wasps when eating outside as they bizarrely seemed to be attracted to the meat but the staff were doing the best they could by cleaning up constantly.
The hotel rule of long trousers at dinner is not rigorously observed, I think this is more to dissuade beach wear and I would say the majority of men were wearing smart shorts
The first evening we rushed out onto the veranda for dinner as it was a beautiful spot overlooking the sea but quickly found it was a) far too hot and b) we were plagued by wasps and had to move into the (air conditioned) restaurant, it was also enjoyable to eat in the courtyard.
We generally returned to our room after the entertainment in the evening to have a drink on our deck with to watch the bats dipping into the pool and the hedgehogs on the grass (very relaxing)
I would return to this hotel but would have to have a swim up room and would like to see more of the island next time.

Room Tip: Swim up rooms face out toward the sea, gardens and the pool.

I stayed here with my teenager daughter on our first holiday alone and felt very safe which had been worrying me .We stayed in early July 2012 when it was lovely and hot .The hotel is amazing its setting is what makes the hotel so lovely .It is situated on the beach and if you get a sea view room the views are spectacular especially at sunrise and sunset .The hotel is a bit out of the way of things but if you want a nice relaxing holiday with good food, drinks and views this is definitely the place for you .You can have a nice walk up to the local villages and see the real Corfu and meet the charming locals .Kaisers throne is well worth the walk to see great views of the island .We took the free bus to Corfu town on a couple of occasions and that again is worth the visit for the shops etc .The rooms in the hotel were modern and spacious .The hotel staff were lovely very friendly and efficient and seemed to like doing their jobs they always had a smile and were very helpful .I have one criticism when eating they did tend to take your plate away a bit too quick when you had finished and when the person your eating with is still eating that is a bit hasty but that is the only criticism I have . All in all a brilliant hotel with a good choice of food and very good quality and the same applies to the drinks .Definitely worth a visit I'll be going back for sure .

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view it is so worth that little extra for the amazing views .

Stayed there for one week in june 2012 and loved it, Hotel very clean and well run with excellent food choices and polite and friendly staff and superb atmosphere and a great place to relax and de stress. Glyfada is a very quiet retreat perfect getaway from the crowds with a well kept clean beach. if you are staying for more than a week then car hire is probably a good option although there is a bus service but we choose not to use and being a little off the track some may find it a problem but we certainly didnt. would go back without a shadow of doubt.
