Not a lot of choice on a Tuesday in Magny sadly so we tried this restaurant. "Brick" starter was simply a taste square omelette with coriander sprinkled on top. Two lamb tagine main courses, one with peppers and the other with prunes and almonds were both served piping hot but incredibly bland and tasteless. No hint of Moroccan spices at all, just plain over cooked food. Very disappointing really. Staff were friendly.

One of the great things about L'Etoile Verte is that it stays open almost every day of the year. When all the other restaurants in the area are closed, this keeps serving. And, for the country, it accepts customers who arrive fairly late: until 9:30 in the evening.

The fare is Moroccan -- i.e., mainly couscous or tajine. (Children's plates are also available.) The quality of the food is surprisingly good for the price. The semolina is fine and perfectly cooked, and the vegetable stew tasty. But what the restaurant really excels at is its meats, which are very flavorful. The couscous are accompanied by small ramekins filled with white raisins (sultanas), and chickpeas.

Service is generally swift, and courteous.

The wine choice is limited, but good, featuring several makes from Morocco and Algeria.

The interior decor is also a plus. Like many of the buildings in Magny, L'Etoile Verte looks narrow at the front, but it stretches waaaaaaaaaaaay back. So you can sit in front where it is comparatively bright, or in the more dimly lit (and cosy) back section. The ceilings are decorated in multi-colored leather. Worth having a look even if you decide not to stay to eat!

Adding to the ambiance, the owners play North African music in the background, but not too loud.

A great family-style restaurant that accommodates large groups as easily as solo diners and couples, and all configurations inbetween.
