“Interesting mix”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

Some of the exhibits are very stange, for instance a neolithic cave reconstruction inside a palace, but the building and gardens are nice, again with stunning views

“The building and gardens were the best part.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

The displays are laid out chronologically and are educational (signs in Spanish and English -- thank you!), but do not include much authentic craft or art of any of the cultures. The building itself, the courtyards and the gardens and views were the best part of the experience for me.

“If in Ronda - put this on your list.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2012

If you are even vaguely interested in local history/culture - put this on your list (very cheap to get into to from what I remember.) The Spanish are not great at putting on Exhibitions (IMO), but here you have archaeology, history and everything set in a magnificent historical setting. 9/10!

“Lovely old interior courtyard”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

The Mondragon Palace has an old Moorish courtyard, parts of which are original; it's serene. Unusual find in such a small town.

“Excellent archeological museum with a garden and outstanding view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

Mondragon Palace is one of the highlights of Ronda. A fine building containing excellent geomorphological displays explaining the local limestone landscape feature. These displays are a prelude to displays and life-size models describing the archaeology of Ronda and its area up to the settlement of the area by the Romans. A disappointment is that the history stops with the Romans. We do not find out what happened to Ronda under the Visigoths and early Moors. There is a good, if domestically scaled garden in a Mudejar style. But there are also fabulous views across the cliffs to the west of Ronda. One of Ronda's must see sights.
